Seriously. These guys just won't shut up about piracy and DRM. They are trying way too hard to be "good guys". It was a breath of fresh air the first time. Good to hear the second. Getting old by the third. Now, the one thousandth time in, I'm real sick of them banging on about it.
I have a solution for you, it may sound a little crazy...

Don't watch the video if you know it's going to be about their DRM free policies and are sick of them talking about it.

Just a thought.

First off, how does one try too hard to be the good guy? Is their desire to please us somehow destroying your way of life? Corrupting your genome so that your offspring is born with an unnatural craving for committing good deeds? No, it's a stupid complaint to make, and you should stop.

Secondly, they do not go out of their way to nag about their DRM practices. It is we who show interest in what they do, which prompts gaming journalists to ask them about it. In other words, they are answering our questions.

It's a shame that The Witcher has a piss poor user interface and control scheme, the series looks fantastic from afar. Doesn't hurt that the devs seem pretty laid back as well.

But its such an effective marketing strategy that makes their games sell like hotcakes. why would they stop having such an easy and free advertisement?

Wait, you mean this company actually realizes that not every single person can even afford a video game at the time of its release?

Might have something to do with CDPR not having your typical American CEO who has no concept as to how the average consumer operates financially... I mean, why don't the poor people just buy more money like I did?

Then again I loved The Witcher and The Witcher II mostly due to the setting, characters, and the story - if not the gameplay. I'll most certainly be picking up The Witcher III at release and Cyberpunk 2077.
Might have something to do that thier Polish. Polish are poor in general, as is most of post-soviet states. So they experienced first hand what it means when for majority of population a title on launch day costs almost half of your monthly wage.

Maybe this time they'll actually stick to it rather than turning around and surprise suing people.

I'll be buying Witcher 3 irrespective of any policies of its publisher, based on the strength of the past titles, enjoying the Witcher universe and lore and my fondness for CD Projekt. But this is a refreshing and good outlook from a developer. The fact is, you can force DRM on customers all you want, fully integrate Origin, uPlay or whatever, and your game will still be pirated. And the fact of the matter that pirates have a much better experience of the game (on PC) and precisely the same experience on console.

I still chuckle at the infamous "Pirate DVD Flowchart":

Also, I want Cyberpunk 2077 NOW. Please? Soon then?

I purchased both previous Witcher games from GOG because of their policies towards piracy and the big FU they gave when Australia tried to govern their prices.

I dont think I've even launched them. But good business practices deserve support.
