Can it actually BE Witcher 2? I'd prefer it if it was, so far at least. The writing's still good but it all just seems so haphazard. Witcher 2 was still semi-open world, but it was tight. Things inter-wove. At the moment it just feels like spilled peas all over the floor, and the ones that happen to touch are the main quest line.

I guess I shouldn't judge though. Haven't played it through yet. I may also be a bit salty I bought it for 90 AUD from the GoG store, regional pricing and all, and now there's a GMG sale for 38 AUD.

Also, can someone tell me why GoG has regional pricing on Witcher 3 and Steam and GmG don't?
I don't know what game you have been playing but all the side quests i played in the Witcher 3 were fantastic and better than the main quests of other rpgs.
And it got regional pricing on steam and GmG as well. So i have officially no idea what you're talking about.

Witcher 3 has game stopping bugs. As much as I like CDPR--after a week or so of playing, I hit the Get Junior quest bug. Everyone says--reload an old save. Well I ran around for several more days doing side quests and exploring the "?". Wasn't until I visited the CDPR forums that I learned there was no work around for the Get Junior secret door bug. With no save file to revert to--I'm faced with three decisions: Start over from the beginning, wait for a patch, or return the game.

Folks have been complaining about the Get Junior bug since May, and nothing.

GMG sell dodgy russian keys bought under regional pricing there, your gain is a russians loss. They are a shady, grey market company.

Steam does have regional pricing and always has had it, Steam make more money and are fine with it, they are not a PC Gamers champion and exploit there advantage whenever they can, refunds for instance were forced by EU courts, Steam fought against it all the way.

GOG had been forced to apply it by their own Publisher and were taken to court by them for Witcher 2, they lost the case. GOG has since been forced to apply it on all new games by publishers, when GOG started selling tnew games.
All they can do is offer you the equivalent Money off future GOG games and take the loss themselves.
GOG and CDPR have upto now been PC gaming champions, as long as they continue to be, Gamers first profit second. I'm happy to pay more for DRM free GOG games than Steam ones. I also lose out on regioinal pricing in the UK, but will never use a company like GMG, that exploits it for they're own profit margin, not to give you cheap games.

GOG and CDPR are not perfect and I don't like everything they do, but they do put Gamers first and have the right intent, even when it goes wrong, they do listen to our complaints and correct their mistakes.

It's your choice and I hate giving Publishers my money when they don't give a damn, I wait for Complete versions on sale for under £5 with Publisher owned AAA games.
CDPR on GOG, I never have begrudged paying full price for their product. They are the Devs and it's very rare devs get all of your coin.

It always stinks when a bug you have hit goes unfixed, you can be sure CDPR are trying to fix it, some bugs take a very long time to be fixed. The Nav Mesh bug appeared in TES Oblivion (2006) that went on through both Fallouts and Skyrim, before it was finally patched in about 2012/3. Modders have been bug fixing Skyrim for 4 years and will never get them all, some bugs can't be fixed. Some can only after months of meticulous work. It stinks when you hit one, but all gamers should know to make backup saves when they can, even with games that only autosave, you can still make backups of the save.

If you don't get a fix with the 1.07 patch, it will be because no fix exists. Not because they don't care, but because they havn't found the cause. These games are complex and sometimes an unrelated change breaks something unexpected. When it's a rare set of circumstances, it will only be triggered by users doing something the testers never did.

My advice would be to start again and follow a sensible save routine in future, with all games.

Lastly just to point out that many issues have nothing to do with the actual game, though we all assume it's at fault.

I had a bad problem with Dragon Age Inquisition that affected many others, even so 99% of gamers played without major issues.
It's only those who have problems on the support sites, so it always seems as if everyone has the problem you have.

This was not being able to run the game at all, it CDT'd constantly but at various random key loading points. After 3 days I had started the game about a 1000 times, got to character creation 3 times and only once got as far as first combat.
I'd reinstalled game and drivers, tried every suggestion, every other game I ran just fine and nothing anyone tried worked.
I and all the others were convinced it was the games Denuvo DRM at fault, I still suspect it was part of the problem.
At some point when a Driver reinstall failed, I had to reinstall Windows from a Backup.
I Keep all games and Personal files on a dedicated Games Drive, so this was only Windows and Utility Programs I replaced, no part of the game was changed at all.

Yet, the game ran fine after that, I never had an issue loading it after that point. I believe my 6 month old Windows install had become partially and gradually corrupted. Nothing obvious had changed, but something crucial was different.
Maybe, a single bit, was now 0 not 1, that had caused the Denuvio DRM to trigger a CDT in the game.
Now if all else fails I will reinstall windows again.
It was annoying and no game fix ever appeared from the devs, I posted my solution and finally played the game.
It was a letdown in the end, but I finally got to play the Single Player MMO.

I wonder if Angry Joe will harp on Heart and Stone's 10 hour length like he did with Dragon Age: Awakening, you know he complained about it being 13 hours in length? Even though in my opinion that was a decent length for it? Yeah we'll see.

I honestly can't wait though, I bought the season pass for the expansions, I'm so gonna love it!
That was a matter of value for price. Awakening did cost as much as Heart of Stones and Blood and Wine combined so it makes sense that he would complain about Awakenings 13 hours, but not about heart of Stones and Blood and Wines 30 hours.

Unless one of my mate's been telling tall tales if you do it right you actually can romance them both.
Nope. If you try then this happens.

Yennefer and Triss invite you to a Threesome, bind you to the bed naked, make fun of your naivety and dumb you.
Putting this in spioler tags since it refers to the above post.
Hah! Seriously?

(I just youtubed it lol) It never even occured to me to try - but I love it. This is the kind of reason I love the game so much - everything has a consequence. And sometimes not the one you think you'll get.

It would be so out of character to allow the threesome situation to occur - particularly in Yennefer's case (although Triss wouldn't either). You dont take such proud and powerful people, treat them like shit and then expect a happy ending.

Just because it's a fantasy game doesn't mean your every fantasy should be pandered to - particularly when it would be at the expense of the credibility of the characters. So proud of CDPR for allowing the conversational possibilities - and then Geralt getting a well deserved cold shower.

Awesome stuff.

GMG says 60USD for me, Steam too.

The quests are still top notch, I guess I should just stop comparing them to Witcher 2, since that's the only game I can think of with a better storyline or better quests.
