With todays gaming technology, what older gaming series' would you like to see brought back?

I just thought of another one, while it's not really THAT old.

Freelancer, does anyone remember that? Now that was a cool game. If they remade it now, it'd be so good. Apparently they were working on a sequel but it got canned. =[

Populous should definetely be remade. I also spent endless hours going around as a walking god (Using the erode spell to sink enemy buildings into the seas was a particular favourite). I also think Dungeon Keeper, a revival of the Theme Park, Theme Hospital etc. and X-COM Apocalypse would be awesome.

Yeah, that erode spell was pretty intense, and the Angel of Death one. =D

Link to the past, with better then TP graphics. Having the master sword as the strongest sword sucks.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos (FTW I might add).
We need more platformers in the mixture of today's games, currently overflowing with FPS's.
I think a very good point has been raised here.

final fantasy series imagine the 2d ones 3d and voiced (I DO NOT COUNT FF3DS ITS NOT THE ORIGINAL FF3) and the 7-9 with ps3 level graphics would be costly to recreate them all

and final fantasy tactics same rules and everythign but like ps3 or advanced psp (instead of remake like war of the lions) graphics with more voices, i like the rules system but i think it could look a lot better with even ps2 graphics :p (though hell im nto a graphic freak if the game is good iwill play it to this day like ff2

I agree with Commander Keen, though i'd question the need. Still, awesome game.

My vote is for Roller Coaster Tycoon. Give it some Flock-esque graphics that are kinda cartooney but really well done, put in a good physics engine, some new maps, sandbox mode, and you're done. Also, I know that RCT 3 attempted some of these things, but it was so buggy and the graphics were so horrible that there wasn't much of a point to it. Also, i'd like to see them take the structure of The Movies, where instead of jumping from scenario to scenario, you just get one park that you have to grow and build throughout the game, and you have competitors to deal with.

Now that I mention it, i'd like someone to remake the Movies. Or at least patch it, because it's annoyingly buggy.

Lastly, My Disney Kitchen, because that game was really fun.

Ahh as for Commander Keen, isn't it just :p everyone loves a bit of the ol' Commander!

And yeah the Movies could be done well if they made another, the first one was genuinely fun, save the bugs of course. Mine kept crashing >.<

None. If the game could not last then let it die, new graphics and technology will not make up for a bad game.

Yeah, that could be the case, but in alot of instances the games were good, but continuing them was just forgotten about, I mean, again to use the example of Populous, that game was incredible, there should be sequels, but there just aren't. /Disappointment.

But could it not be said that part of its greatness is that it is the only one.

MGS1 all over again but in todays Graphics

Or Maybe a Remake of Rayman
They already remade it for the last generation of games on the Gamecube. Sure, not the best choice of platform, but it still looks pretty damn good. It's basically just MGS1 with MGS2 graphics.

The scene with Gray Fox destroying the corridor of soldiers is glorious.

That is exactly what I was referring to. It would be so fun to play through those games again with new graphics.

It's not old, hell, the latest version was released just a few weeks ago, but Dwarf Fortress would be glorious in 3D graphics in 720p. But considering how big of a project Dwarf Fortress is by itself... well, the end result would be a project that'd take longer than DNF to complete. So, uh, yeah.

Then there's the 1998 version of Battlezone, the only FPS/RTS I think has ever worked. Just better graphics, some new scenarios and we're set.

I also wish Volition would make Freespace 3 instead of concentrating their efforts on Red Faction. In fact, more space sims in general would be nice these days. There really isn't much of a choice out there considering the only decent ones are X3 and Darkstar One. The latter one was released 3 years ago.
