I just got Wolfenstein for my ps3, expecting it to be nazi blastathon with a supernatural twist. it sort of delivers, but its now "open world style". thats not wolfenstein! i remember the old 2d ones robo hitler bots with dual miniguns. they were great.

what do you think of the wolfenstein reinvention?

It got reinvented a few years ago, this isnt the first game after the 2D one.

Regardless, i liked it, nothing new from an FPS but its still really fun. Plus the supernatural upgrades add a little bit more to the action.
it isnt? what platform was the last 3d one on? i must have missed it!

Not really, but that is to be expected with remakes of games.

However, I loved both the first Wolfenstien, and the newest one, as long as you go into it with an open mind it can still be awesome fun.

It came out in 2001 for the PC, it was called "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" and was pretty great.

As for the latest one, the open world stuff is minimal and I can't say I noticed it that much. The game is great fun overall and there is plenty of supernatural Nazis to gun down.

Return to Castle Wolfentstein [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Return_to_Castle_Wolfenstein], it was for the PC i believe. I being mainly a PC gamer with a few console tendencies played it way back when, 2001.

Well, I don't remember much of the first Wolfenstein, or RTCW (but I love the Enemy Territory one). And I liked Wolfenstein 2.

Too bad that I hate the "buy upgrades for gold you find" system. Especially since you can't just re-run missions for extra gold.

Also appeared on original Xbox. Was a good game with some nice ideas for the enemies.

New Wolfenstein is a lot less bizaare, but still very good for all the conventions. The first level was a great way to open the game and introduce the quirks, and I expect to see the Tirpitz cut scene on Unskippable at some point.

I distinctly remember there being a Wolfenstein game on the Xbox, and that was the only one out of the series I ever played. From what I hear of the new Wolfenstein, it hasn't really changed much, other than perhaps a slight graphical re-hash. I didn't really enjoy the Xbox one, so I doubt I'll fork out for this one to be honest.

yeah that is a pain. theres also more upgrades than you can afford. so you can never have ALL the guns completed. thats a wind up.

I have the PC version, and I was outraged when I noticed that it was direct port from the X360 version. Other than that, it was merely an ok game.

Can anyone comment on how the multiplayer fairs compared to Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory?
(Or Enemy Territory: Quake Wars if you must.)

I'm basically only going to get this game for its multiplayer, otherwise I'll borrow it for a day somewhere down the line.

it is far better than quake wars. i found quake wars to be very standard and brown. Wolfenstien multiplayer is pretty cool. but i have not played Enemy territory. sorry D4zZ.

Well at least that's a good sign, Quake Wars didn't hold my attention for that long. Need to find that game again...

The wolfenstien game is highly flawed and broken(MP is very broken they fired the MP dev team and raven has had alot of layoffs) but I love its SP side as much as I did RTCW, though RTCW is a better all around game.

I like this game more than Halo ep 3,COD(any),Bioshock and any other modern day shooter so far despite its flaws.

I been hacking away at the def files to mod the game and make it more enjoyable IE things don;t die with 1-2 hits, you are a bit faster and can jump higher, you take a few less hits to die ect, ect.

Its a shame lean is not used (grumbles about console gaming dumbing stuff down) then I could make it so a few hits kills him altogether :X

its 50/50 is the SDK will be released.... I bought my 2 copies in hopes it will be!
