No problems on the PC version that I've noticed. Strange that the Xbox version would have a glitch like that.

Same thing here, PS3 version, lost a treasure before a checkpoint, trying to get it back by reloading the previous checkpoint and ever since I'm impossible to play the game anymore (switched my PS3 off/on again, restarting the game, nothing...)
This problem happened to me on the 360 version right before fighting the queen giest. I was able to continue for another autosave using my Mire abilities alone. Even after the story seguences my gun was not coming back. I reloaded my save several times, and nothing. The only way i was able to get my guns back was to "Push Pause" choose "Load". It will show a bunch of your past autosaves. I had to go back about three autosaves to get my guns back. Just remember you can't reload your last save, you have to go back to before the problem started.
This probably counts as necroing but meh...
The cause of this bug as far as i can see is when you go to a checkpoint with the Leichenfaust 44 equipped. I've tested it out 5 times and each time i get a checkpoint with it equipped, then reload that checkpoint, it causes the previously mentioned glitch.
If it's whats doing it for others than try not to keep it equipped ^^'
