So I don't know if anyone ever watched the series. My friend doesn't like the animation (I don't blame it, the animation could be better). I thought it was as good as the original X-men cartoon (way better than Evolution). If you never watched it let me tell you what happened in the series.

*First episode they put Xaiver into a coma.
*Gambit is hired to steal Magneto's helmet (and makes it off his island before getting busted by Magneto).
*Nightcrawler fights inter-dimensional pirates who want to steal mutants for a TV show. Seriously.
*Cliff hanger into the Apocalypse for Season 2.

Then guess what? Season 2 was canceled. I wish I was kidding, I really wish I was, it was one of my favorite Marvel cartoon series. What are your thoughts? Want to see a second season?

No the original X-men cartoon was much much better and the people at the Nicktoons Network destroyed it.

Don't see how they destroyed it. Cyclops wasn't that annoying (I really really hate Cyclops), Iceman wasn't a one-liner spouting frigid dildo and it had an awesome ending. (In the spoiler)

Emma Frost absorbed the Pheonix Force. Turned into her diamond form (in which she can't use telepathy) and pretty much exploded.

Edit: I also feel inclined to say that the original series was awesome, although the Bishop time line's were annoying. Every show has those episodes though.

I watched Wolverine and the Xmen and enjoyed it. Nothing beats the original cartoon of the 90s though. But then again I liked Evolution as well.

I liked the animation. What pissed me off was the scene where Wolverine drew his claws to take down some guard then when he got close, retracted them to kick them. Don't have wolverine if you don't know how to use him.

I regret the cancellation. It's a good waste of 20 mins

I grew up on the 90s version, and also though Evolution was pretty good.

I can't exactly say I had hopes for it if it needed to ride on Wolverine's popularity. It's like making a Justice League cartoon and calling it Batman and the Justice League.

Oh wait.

I've only watched a couple of episodes but I quite liked it. From your descriptions I should go away and watch some more.

Of course, the 90s version is pretty unassailable in my eyes, and I too liked Evolution!

I don't know if it was the original X-men but it was from a while back. That one is significantly better then the last two versions that have come out. Particularly the last iteration, mostly because i am sick of all the Wolverine Hype.

The one back in the 90's will always be my favorite. Evolution was ok. I never watched the Wolverine one. I dislike it JUST because Wolverine is specifically in the title. Why do they feel the need to specify him? If he is the main character why? Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jene Gray, Beast, Xavier, Magneto, Storm, Rouge all have cooler storylines. Why wolverine?

Bah....

I have to agree with you here, I thought Evolution was selling out the X-men francise.

Plus, the 90's animated series made Jubilee one of my favorite X-Men.

Anyway, I thought Wolverine and the X-men was the smartest thing Nicktoon did since releasing Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Marvel was just getting a big stiffy for Wolverine (Wolverine: Origin Stories, Wolverine the game), it was just natural they made a Wolverine X-men series. While it wasn't specifically about him, he turned into the leader (suck it Cyclops).

I didn't think it was too bad. Am incredibly disappointed that we won't get a second season, esp. since they whipped out Apocalypse. You don't whip out a villain like Apocalypse and then cancel the show, that's cruel and unusual punishment. On the other hand though, if they were bringing out Apocalypse already I don't think they planned to run the show much longer anyway. After all Apocalypse is the evil villain you get out when you need a huge thrilling climactic series ending finish.
I did see much of the old 90's X-Men, but the bits I saw were good; and I did enjoy Evolution.

I don't mind them running with Wolvie's popularity if done right. I thought Wolverine and the Xmen was done right. If only they would continue with it though.

Yeah it's a shame they cancelled it. I thought the first only series was pretty good - not as good as the 90's run, but better than Evolution (which I still kind of enjoyed).
Accordin to Wikipedia, there's a petition or two trying to get it back, or, failing that, at least get second series released straight to DVD...
