...so looking at a recent picture of Wolverine (drawn by Adi Granov) I saw that Wolverine's claws are of the flat, straight lined "blade" variety. Now I am a fairly regular Marvel comic reader and have always heard of them referred to as curved "Claws" which would imply something with a conical shape and a sharp point at the end (as is the case with animal "claws"). So my question is what is the story with Wolvie's claws, are they...

A) Curved, round shaped claws with the point only at the end...

or

B) Flat, razor blade-esque "blades"..

So fellow escapist comic fans (and experts) what's the story?

sabertooth has claws, wolverine has those blade things but I'm pretty sure they taper into a point and might even hav ea slight, very slight curve just at where it tapers. Because they come out of the hand though and are more than one, Ii think claws makes more sense to name them as.

I'd guess too much curved is a ***** to store in the arms, plus the second ones look a fair bit better. But I'm no Marvel reader, so my opinion is probably worth nothing.

Yeah, it's mostly the artist's interpretation I think. His claws seemed to have more officially taken on the flat bladed form in recent years most likely due to the design of them in the X-Men films and their widespread popularity.

But his claws have changed design back and forth over the last 30+ years.

Like a lot of design choices in comics, it's down to the artist. Some draw them more rounded and curved, while others draw them much straighter.

It's really not something to worry about.
