For some reason, I love hearing about these stupid law suits.

They're just so stupid and pointless! It's so much fun to read about small people who think they matter. So cute!

Hey, Vista has Windows Movie Maker.

Yay for crappy videos.
XP also has Windows Movie Maker.

I have Vista and have had no problems with it (this coming from a guy who, due to university work, has to spend about 10 hours a day, no exagerration, on his laptop doing assignments. Considerably less at weekends, fortunately). Until now I've thought I would simply burn out the system with the amount I use it, but that hasn't happened yet. I much prefer Vista to XP, XP was on my old PC (the family one back home) and although it is a pretty decent PC, the system itself crashes every other week. Not the PC, the system itself. I don't get that with Vista. I just want to know why everyone seems to hate Vista with a passion (I get the feeling that it's just people jumping on the We Hate Microsoft bandwagon.

As someone who now uses vista (by force, my laptop couldnt come with xp) i started off hating it, it wouldnt run my really old games and i was slightly irritated. Plus it was different and it meant i had to spend 5 seconds learning how to use all the useful features of vista that save time. But if your not trying to run something ancient (i.e pre xp) then vista has absolutely no problems assuming you know what your doing.

Apparently alot of people complain it takes up alot of space and memory and to them i say buy a real computer, this laptop (now 8/9 months old) and i've never seen it go slow and i've run crysis and other memory whoring programs on it. And laptops are always slower than computers so if you get a computer then your garrenteed to be fine for doing anything. I'll also point out this laptop wasnt 'massively' expensive either.

You know...I remember having the same issues running old games with XP that everyone seems to be complaining about with Vista. But lo and behold! There is a compatibility wizard that is supplied with both XP and Vista! Just clicking the "Run in 98" or "Run in XP" box solved 90% of my problems and anything else was resolved with a download or two--and we're talking about some pretty old games.

And if you think any new OS isn't going to have the same problem, I refer you to Datalord.

I've got two computers, one has Vista and the other XP. There are a few programs I use that just refuse to work on Vista and naturally they're the ones that I paid stupidly expensive amounts of money for and actually want to work (i.e. ProTools). I've found that running Vista on a laptop though is just an exercise in futility.

Personally, I wouldn't sue over a $60 inconvenience but I can see how one would be tempted to try just for the principle of the thing.

Unless there is a gun-ho lawyer that isn't being bought off by mircosoft and hates them with a passion or something. "THEY MURDERED MY WIFE!"
The irony is, if any company could make this story feasible, it's microsoft.

You know what the biggest problem with Vista is? People are retarded.
Have a cookie. You deserve it. That is the best quote I've seen dealing with Vista in a long time. Can I use it in the future?
Hah, feel free!
I might also be stealing said saying, it is made of much win!

WOW, $60, lets go pay thousands to hire lawyers and pay for a lawsuit to get back $60.
Hurray! Those $60 will help me buy a new car! (Of course, if I didn't hire lawyers to win this case.)
This is why you need to crash the car to get the insurance to make the car payment.

XPs a lot more stable, more actual tech support for major problems.
This is where you and most people fail. XP has been out of 8 years, while Vista has only been out for 2 years January 30. Of course XP was the more stable system they had 6 years of debugging and tech support behind it. While Vista was getting complaints within the first month. When XP was release it was a load of buggy shit and after correcting it's problems it runs fine. Microsoft also stopped having XP support for several months now.

Personally, I don't find Vista to be all that terrible. The problem is that Vista has many, many little problems that add up to make it a not-fun system for me.

Get a Mac.
Sorry, just read a lot of Applegeeks. I run Vista A-ok, but if she wanted XP THAT BAD, someone probably sells it somewhere... Even if it's a used copy.
This lawsuit is ridiculous, but hey, way to prove a point lady.

ok but i think its real nice how before microsoft fixes all the problems with vista, they're realeasing a NEW OS. great move gates. Vista blows. get over it.

I know what I'm doing (MCITP and MCTS) and I hate vista. The controls are not intuitive enough for someone who "grew up" on the older OS' though they're quite nice for a newbie, the security features are down right annoying (note: OS X has the same problem if you're installing, say, CS2) and the random crashes that the sidebar has are bordering on making me a mass murderer.

It's pot luck. I've got an image of Vista on a server which I casted out to two identical laptops (bought at the same time). One ran fine, the other needed a re-image to get back into the fray. There is just random... crap... in Vista.

And whoever said they got used to Vista, remember people got used to ME as well.

Would you care to back up your statements? I can't get much from, "It sucks".

It's slow, it's faulty, it requires a lot more power than XP.

And it costs a lot, compared to XP + good programs to make up for Vista's features.

Which are not enough to justify why Microsoft is forcing Vista down our throats.

Vista is just the new Millenium - morons bought it and tried to defend, then came out a superior version without the errors and mistakes.
Chronically mis-informed, and terminally stupid... The case is hopeless, pull the plug on this dumbass his stupidity is untreatable... I love it when fools that have never used it comment, their lack of any real knowledge just shines through every time.
Oh yes, insult him instead of actually refuting his points, great strategy.

I haven't used Vista personally so I have no opinion for or against it. I am just going to stick with XP, as there is no sense in upgrading right now and spending all the money to "fix" what isn't broken.

You do realize that Bill Gates has something better to do than debug Vista himself.

What so-called problems are you having? I have had Vista for almost a year and with only 4 problems. 3 of those are game compatibility. Also, Windows 7 is only a retooled version of Vista.
