After making it through a hell of a lot of sceptisism, I actually fixed my own 360.

And you know how after you see someone naked they come across as considerably less intimidating? (Well I'm pretty sure there's a few people who that will never happen too... yeah I went there...)
I suddenly find my Xbox to be just a pile of metal, which in retrospect I probably should have noticed before.
I kind of miss this weird ominous figure that my 360 used to be.

I also noticed that after 5 weeks of a broken Xbox, I need some better games.

Anybody else had a mechanical moment?

fisrt day at work for a tractor dealer/landscaper, I was trying to put the brush guard on a weed eater. after about 10 minutes of fiddling with it i steped back and relized it was upside down. From the moment onward I promised myself that i would always spend a moment making sure i had the right idea before attempting something.

Just for your info those brush gruards are the most simple things there to put togethor, one screw and two pieces of plastic.

I'm not going to belive you, until you tell me how.

Sorry
How to fix the 360?

Remove the external casing and all 360 peripherals.
There are some pretty detailed tutorials on youtube on how to do each of these stages. Remove the heat sync and the GPU. Remove the residue solution that is the most common cause of Xbox breakdowns, ERROR E73.
Clean it easily using a tooth pick or soft material like toilet paper. To make this easier use a solution like turpentine or white spirit.
You can polish it with something like nail polish remover (ironically).

THIS is where some people can experience problems, including me. You have to overheat the system and restart the 360. If you do it right, it should work out perfectly.

Wow I think that's the longest I've ever gone without making a pretentious joke. Oh there we go... That's soooo much better...
