It's just that every time someone tells me the graphics aren't good enough, they're talking about something like this.

Wonder no more... he totally tried to extol his graphical superiority over my personally-upgraded rig until about ten people nearby told him to stop being a total dumbass.

I mean, come on. The Xbox 360 came out in, what, 2006? Even someone with NO KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTERS can figure out that my 2011 upgrade makes prettier pictures.

These phrases piss me off. Let's face facts people. Some of your are basing your judgments of people's intelligence, personality, and ability to make reasoned arguments based on their entertainment tastes. And frankly, if you're doing this, you're probably an ignorant moron. Sorry if that's harsh, but I'm tired of being insulted like that. It's just dumb.

There are young people who play games who do not, by mere presence, make the game less enjoyable. There are also lots of young people who do make the game less enjoyable by merely being present.

Of course, most of the time when I make such a judgment, it has a firm basis. Someone who resorts to profanity and threats based on a game is immature regardless of age. Anyone who has yet to hit puberty (or is in the statistically unlikely category of person who has already gone through this process and yet still sounds like a child) certainly includes people who are not 12, but the word in this case is not an absolute. It describes a person who sounds young and is demonstrably immature.

Honestly, I'm rarely bothered by such people. Any attempt at insult a strange child could conjure tends to be funny in a pathetic "look at that kitten fall down" sort of way and I have plenty of options available to mute such people should they risk annoying me. The only thing they accomplish regularly is being better than me at some game or another.

In the end, if you're 12 - well that's a shitty age to be. Sorry, your peers ruined it for you. At least you don't have a job and can play a few dozen hours a week thus ensuring you can just best those who make gross assumptions.

"Epic" is probably the only one. People misspelling words annoys me too, words such as:

Rouge -> Rogue
Asasin/assasin/asassin -> Assassin
Anywas -> Anyways

etc. etc. etc.....

It's an annoying word to spell if you're mother tongue is not english . (assassin)

OT: that is what pisses me off. Gamers who's native tongue is English and they can ONLY speak English. And then they think they make a better argument because they make less spelling errors in english. Better grammar and such.

Long reply: FUCK YOU. You can speak one language and the rest of the world just goes along with it. While I agree that it is the most common language on the web too communicate, you can at least forgive the people who don't have perfect spelling when they are from another country.

Also I've never heard it used outside the escapist (at least how it's used here) so maybe its just a cancer that's infected the Escapist and has yet to metastasize elsewhere.

I'm not sure that the term is justified at any point. Out of all the terms you could use, why do you have to use "rape"? I'd rather not see the term trivialized, there are enough kiddos on Xbox Live screaming "I*M GONNA RAPE YOU OMFG" as it is.

I'll be honest..when I was younger I thought consoles had better graphics because they were "specialised" gaming machines, and our home computer was always "average"

but it really did not take me long to figure it out
