Heres a funny little story about work that my father went through. My Dad is an EMT in New York. He went on a call to another district. A lady was having a cardiac arrest. He was told not to do anything by the other cheif, just to watch. They needed to resusitate her, so one guy tells my Dad to do CPR.
He tell him, "Dude, I'm ALS that's BLS work."
THe phone then rings. The other guy tells him to get the phone if he isn't going to do CPR. The conversation went a bit like this...
"Hello"
"Hi"
"Hows it going"
"What are you doing in my house"
"This may sound a little awkword, but I'm here for your wife"
"I knew it! I knew that ***** was cheating! I hope shes enjoying you right now, because when I get home she is DEAD!"
Just at that moment, she crashed.
"Funny you mention that because-"
Husband hangs up.
They got the lady stable and took her to the hospital, basic procedure, and needless to say, my Dad got the Hell out of there. Do you guys have any good work stories?
Note- when he turned down the CPR she wasn't in a bad enough condition that it was needed yet.
