Well i went to work for four hours today and it was a very bad day for me. To make this easier im going to put this in a spoiler box it might be a little wordy

I have a friend at work who I will refer to as D and she works really hard. She is probably the hardest worker in our store. (I work at a wal-mart) I consider her a dear friend because she went to school with my Dad and knows my mom when she worked at the store.

Her job consists of unloading the truck with the unloaders and unbinning our merchandise, and basically all our backroom stuff. She is sometimes the only person in the back and gets very overwhelmed.

Well Sunday we had a large truck to unload and they sent me back to help after the unloaders had been there an hour. I got in the back and found the truck just getting started because aparently the backroom had not been set up before they got there.

I remember two idiots who had been standing around in the back earlier while i was running freight to the floor to stock. Said idiots were responsible for setting up the backroom but they aparently had there thumbs up their asses.

To compound our delays somebody had put freight and junk on our only open dock where a frozen/dairy truck would have to park and be immediately be unloaded. We had to rearrang our backrom just to unload the damn thing when it got there. It took just a little over an hour to unload the dairy/frozen and we were still unloading the GM truck.

I wasn't scheduled long so i left after the frozen/dairy truck. When i went in today they told me they had taken till 9 sunday to unload the gm truck and D had gotten in trouble. She told the manager who I will call C about the delays and her response had been "There was no excuses"

In other words it was not C's fault because she was laying all the blame on my friend.
Funnily enough i saw C putting all the freight where the Frozen/dairy would be parked.
C is the manager over the backroom and she did nothing to get it set up for the unloaders and never even tells off the two idiots who were DOING NOTHING!!!

She told my Friend D off and she is a very hardworking sweet lady who gets stressed out because of all the crap put on her by this manager.

Im getting Crappy hours at work im always getting stuck unloading the truck because they wont hire anyone else and now THIS!!!

My dear friends at the escapist i believe this is the straw that broke the camels back. I have put up with C since i started working at walmart and she nearly drove me batshit in the first months i was there, until the zone manager of my department returned from another store she went to help at. C tries to continue ordering me around sometimes like im her little toy soldier. I have watched her do stupid shit and guess who usually had to clean it up? ME!!! My zone manager and several other managers have about had it with her so i am not alone in this, thank god.

Im going to be talking to our new store manager and im going to defend my friend, this crap i will not put up with any fucking longer.

I will also be looking for another job.

So do you think i have a good reason to rage?

Whats your thoughts? have any of these problems if you have a job?

All the power to you my friend. Try not to get too mad about this, but you have every right to feel some anger and enmity towards this person. Do whatever you can, and see if maybe, just maybe, you can get your friend the position left behind after that ***** is fired.

I feel ya. Let me share you my story.

So I got mustered out like over half a year ago, and by law my employers have to either give me my old job back, or hook me up with an equal-pay job elsewhere. Now, I had been gone for over a year, and as I work in a kitchen, there were plenty of new faces. And these new faces started doing this whole "we're better than you 'cos we think we've been here longer than you" routine when I'm at work. They even gave me weird looks when I started talking shit with some of the older employees, who I'm good friends with. They must've thought us strangers or something. Anyways...

Example, I was taking my knives to the dishwashing machine, when one of the new cooks stops me and tells me not to wash them in the washing machine, as it "ruins the knives". First off, I'd get it if they were his own super cool japanese steel 500 bucks a piece master knives, but these were plain old steel ones from the market. They're ment to dull quickly, that's why we have all those knife sharpeners. Well, I don't work with him often, so I let it slide that time.

Example number two, I had just gotten back to work after said mustering out, and naturally the place had changed a little. I didn't know where all the spatulas and other tools were being kept anymore, so whenever a kitchen tool came across that I couldn't place (not all that many), I put them in one drawer I was certain that the people working in the next shift would look in.

We also had a student washing our dishes for the summer, so she came up to me asked me where these belong, and I pointed her towards the drawer I had been using, and said something along the lines of "The Chef is gonna be lookin' for those pretty furiously tomorrow.", with a smile on my face.

So a couple of months (yes, months) later, my boss comes up to me and asks me to come into her office. There she asks me if I've been hiding tools from the Chef. I start laughing and tell her that I have absolutely nothing against our Chef, and then tell her my story. Appearantly, this story about me hiding tools from the Chef has been circulating around the workplace for months now, and she gave me a warning in a note "'Cos she had heard it from so many people".

So appearanly, if you hear it from enough people, it's the truth. Oh, and sorry if my long post comes off as a bit of a hijack.

I spent 2 fucking hours on the phone with Optus trying to clean up the mess our dipshit tech caused with two iPhone contracts. Not to mention that Optus' help line is a clusterfuck.
