Its 2am in Okinawa, and I am at work! And i have to be at work tomorrow morning at 9am. My hours suck.... Anyone else out there that has hours that are worse than mine? Why do people keep jobs that give them shitty hours?

Job security through dependability. Employers know you're the guy that works the weird hours, and that they can depend on you to make those hours even though most people would rather not.
I'm a Chef,and part of the reason I like the shitty hours is because its not 9 to 5.
I'd go batshit crazy getting into that routine.Mon to fri...oh now its the weekend,time to let my hair down,cause its the routine I've been in since Primary school.
Shitty hour have long since tuaght me to grab those moments that are yours and make them count,on any day of the week.

I work in a bar, I get pretty shitty hours but I like the work itself so it sort of balances out. Worst was for a period of about 2 months I worked 6pm-1am Thursday, 6pm-3am Friday, 10:30am-3am Saturday (2 hour break for lunch), then 12noon-11pm sunday. That was some hardcore shit.
People stay at shit jobs for fear of having no other options. It's part of why our (America's) economy is shit. Nobody ever makes anything of themself anymore because of too few opportunities and the job market being flooded with low-paying, crappy hours jobs.
i work from 9 to 1, have a break and then come back from 5 to 7. this is from monday to friday, on saturdays i work from 9 to 1 only
My old job had me working 13 hour days. It was only supposed to be 6 days a week, but it turned into 7 more often than not. I was a horse trainer/professional rider. And on competition weeks, forget it. I would be up at 3 in the morning to get out the show grounds by 4 so I could have everything done when it needed to be. Eventually I was able to hire a groom to help out, but I still ended up doing a lot of that work on my own (if you want something done right, you do it yourself). So on show days I was up at 3 and stayed at the competition until whenever my last class ended, usually sometime in late afternoon. Then I still had to make sure the horses were fed, stalls were cleaned, and everything was set for the following day, so I wouldn't get home until 8 or 9. Try doing that Wednesday through Sunday.
