this thread has questions...

a) would increasing the RAM in my laptop let me play games better/faster?

b) how can i work out if i can put more RAM into it?

I know that you can buy RAM disk things which you put into your laptop, i need to know how much i have and if i can make it better...

the first reply will be my laptops specification from "can you run it"?

Is it even possible to upgrade laptop hardware? I didn't think it was.

A simple google search came up with this: http://www.helpwithpcs.com/upgrading/install-laptop-memory.htm

Does that help at all?

ok well maybe i asked the wrong question, is there any limit to the amount of RAM that a laptop can take? i.e. a top limit that will have the laptop burst into flames with the heat..?

Adding a bit of RAM doesn't work miracles, but it can help. I'm thinking about installing a bit myself. My laptop has one open slot left, so why not. Depending on your laptop there's a limit to how much you can install, so I'd better check what is available for you type. You might either be able to slot in more or replace the RAM you have with something better. For many laptops that's quite easy, for mine you just have to open a small panel and insert it.

Sites like this might give an impression what's available:

each laptop will have an expansion slot for ram, this will take specific modules of a certain type of ram up to a certain size, depending on the laptop. So yes, there is a maximum ram you can install.
If you have 2.7gb of ram already that is likely to be enough for most gaming needs, I doubt adding any more will offer performance benefits.

The maximum limit for RAM for any PC depends on the motherboard of the system (I think). That said, if you're on a 32-bit operating system, it can only use 3.2 Gb.
