So the new Slayer album came out recently(totally missed it) but now that I have it I can honestly say it's a great album. Slayer has managed to keep the standards of quality and brutality up even to the day and I'd call that impressive. So what does everyone else think?( or the few people who actually listen to Slayer and or have this album)

Not much of a Slayer fan, just, couldn't get into it.

Also why is something considered heavy because the "vocalist" screams/roars down the microphone? I thought the guitar/bass guitar dictated the weight of the song. for me that makes Godflesh - Suction a lot lighter than say Slipknot - Dead Memories. In fact why do vocalists scream/roar down the microphone for the duration of a song, I mean it's ok in bits but constantly doing just tells me that have no singing talent, I said singing, not rhythmic or vocal, what they do IS hard, but not musical.

First things first. Since the early mid 90s, Slayer's material began to get same-y. Second, a LOT of people listen to Slayer (hence why they've lasted nearly 30 years), a hell of a lot. Third, meh, not bad considering they're getting on a bit.

Nothing will ever top Reign In Blood.

Haven't heard the new album yet but I'm sure it sounds much like their others.
