My policy is to never play a game solely for the achievements. Because of that my gamerscore is extremely low, but whatever.

I'm around 25,000 on a 7 year old account. Would have 3-4 times that if I played online more (or at all really) or cared to go out of my way for single player achievements. A friend of mine has 50k+ but he rents lots of games that hand out easy achievements just for the sake of padding his gamerscore.
