Hello,
Sharp had made the worlds first Ultra hd tv which has the insane resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 (16 times the resolution of a normal HD tv.)
Considering a Ultra HD movie (2h long) would take 24tb so I'm wondering how long do you guys think it would take for Ultra hd to replace normal hd?

And I'm also wondering if people would buy Ultra hd tv if it costed twice the amount of a normal hd tv or would you be satisfied with normal hd?

I would personally buy a Ultra hd tv if it existed movies and such for it and it costed around 2-3 times more then a normal HD tv.

I wouldn't buy it. My eyes are barely good enough to appreciate normal TV, those 30 million pixels are a bit wasted on me.

My God. Where can they go after this, I wonder? I'm thinking a spring-loaded couch that forcibly ejects the kind of people who purchase this sort of thing into the great outdoors. It's 3D and everything!

I don't know... I mean, I'd probably have to sit on the other side of a very large room to actually watch this without getting a headache... but I'm sure it would be interesting to see in real life.

It's probably like those 3D TVs, where I'll see a demo unit in a Best Buy and be like "oh, that's pretty awesome" while never even considering buying it.

In the future movies will come on an array of 10, 3 TB hard drives and cost $2000.

Still waiting for the day when movies are recorded as 3-D holograms and projected into your living room such that you can walk around the scene while the characters interact.
S'gonna be sweet.

In the meantime, I guess I have to upgrade my TV next month to at least a 1080p big-screen (at least 52" if not more) for the Extended Edition Lord of the Rings Blu-Rays.

Lol. Well the good news is in the future a dollar probably will be worth next to nothing, or at least a lot less than today. Remember what a fortune one dollar was in the Old West? ;)

Awesome

1080p on a 40 inch screen from a distance still looks resolved to me, and I have my doubts that they will look resolved on this screen.

Better than 3D at least.
