I want to give this game a bad review. I really do. I want to tell you not to buy this game. I want to say its a rip off. There should be more weapons, more customization, and compelling single player missions. I want to tell you to go get Worms Armageddon or World Party for the computer, but if I told you that I'd being you a disservice. Worms PSN is the best worms experience available and is some of the most fun you can have playing video games with friends.

If you're unfamiliar with the Worms franchise, then shame on you. You control cute little worms with big weapons in a turn based 2D strategy game. The game is carefully designed to illicit humor, usually from your worms accidentally killing themselves, and getting angry in high pitched voices. It's brilliant. As long as you have a couple of friends to enjoy the laughs with, but even if you don't you can enjoy the game online in every edition of Worms since Worms 2 with the exception of the Wii version. Most worms games since Worms Armageddon have also attempted to offer some single player missions, but that is not how the game is meant to be played. They can be semi-entertaining diversions, but you can not make your Worms buying decisions on the single player experience. Which is good for the PSN versions sales prospects because it has some of the worst single player missions in any worms games. They're boring, and completely pedestrian.

The PSN version is also missing about twenty or so weapons that were available in the PC versions of the games, and have about a third of the customization options. So why is the PSN version a better experience? It's because its on a console. Sitting on a couch and playing pass the controller is a better way to play the game then hot seating on a PC. It's more comfortable, and more fun. You might miss some of the weapons for their sheer ridiculousness, but the core weapons that make the game fun are all here; the weapons they skipped are the novelty ones that entertain you once or twice, but have no place in your regular worms games. They even threw in the concrete donkey for good measure. Yes, there are less weapons, but the important ones are there. Same with the customization options. In the PC versions you can customize anything and everything, which is not the case in the PSN version, where you always play with 4 worms to a team, and they always have 100 health. Luckily 4 worms to a team with 100 health is really the best setting. What weapons you start with you and turn lengths; that is all still customizable.

It should also be noted the game runs in 1080p and is the best looking Worms available.

What makes the PSN version better the XBLA version: more weapons and in general just more content including voices.
What makes it better than the Wii version: Online play

13 dollars is a steep price considering you get less content then a version of the game you might already own, but honestly its worth it so you can play pass the controller. It's a reluctant recommendation, because it feels like a tired franchise milking us for every last penny; but its a strategy that works because Worms is just that good and any self respecting gamer needs a version of it and they need on a console.

Eh...I'd have to disagree with you.
"It's more comfortable, and more fun," are both completely subjective.
My computer is the most comfortable place in the house to sit. Add in the fact that the PC version has more weapons and such?

It's a no-brainer.

The review itself is well formatted. I just completely disagree with what you took away from it.
Typically people have their computers in an office, or use a laptop and typically computer monitors are smaller than TV's. In these situations I think it'd be more comfortable to sit in front of a TV than a cramming 4 people around a computer, constantly getting up to let the next person take their turn. Of course these things may not be true for you, in which case I hope my review had enough information in it to help you make an informed decision.

I had issues with aiming on the XBL version, and I doubt they were cleared up,

Eh, I found the one game in 3D (the name escapes me) that had you fighting in historic battles with the Worms as the best. I tried this for XBL, found it shallow and uniteresting. But than again I hate turn-based strategy, right Max :p?
Right! That is the lesson that was most recently learned by myself.
I thought Worms 3D on the Gamecube was okay, but I liked Armageddon better.
See, I feel entitled to weigh in because I've played 2, Armageddon, and World Party, and currently own Worms 3D, Worms 4: Mayhem, and Worms(Live). The only problem with 3D and Worms 4 was the learning curve, getting the hang of bazooka aiming from 2D ->3D was a trial. That and less ability to tunnel. On the other hand, Worms 4 had Wizard and Cowboy hats, not to mention pimp gloves and mustaches. You can't argue with that. The 360 version is trimmed down, but it prevents the "WTF WAS THAT!" moments arrived at by getting a Patsy's Magic Bullet, a Mike's Carpet Bomb, a Skunk, an Alien Abduction, or a Tail Nail. Simple is good.

tl;dr in 'Me-me'(Worms 3D): Mememe, memee, meme mememe me. Mememe memeh, meeemee meh mememe.

What was Armageddon like?
2D.
...It's hard to explain without going into a review of the game, but suffice it to say, it was the best game everzorz.
I agree. With amount of mods in that game.
Oh god what? There are mods?
Oh no.
Oh no now I have to find a working copy.
Thanks a lot.
No problem. I had to burn 2 copies of W:A but there were voice mods, stage mods, oh the memories.

That's how I got mine.
Obviously I'll have to go find a completely legal version to not pirate.
AH. I'd offer mine if it wasn't so scratched. Hence why I use my burnt copy

The game has the holy hand grenade.

I find the 3D worms to be less satisfying because there is less chance for mayhem. When everything is on a 3D plane, the chains of explosions that can occur are just less crazy. You rarely hurt yourself and multi-kills are rarer.
