Is it too early for the 'shut up and take my money' image? The more I hear about this game, the less worried I get.

You're obviously not much of a Mass Effect fan as you stated you only watched one gameplay vid. I've been watching them nonstop since they announced the release date. I'm really looking forward to this, they said they updated the combat, gameplay, and they even managed to throw in more customization for your powers AND your weapons. The only part that I think looks tacky is that one in one of the videos where you're on the back of a vehicle shooting at a reaper with a mounted machine gun. I mean, it's awesome in its own right, but it just seems so out of place in the Mass Effect universe. Of course, gameplay means nothing with a game as deep and rewarding as Mass Effect, I mean look at the first one. The Mako absolutely sucked, yet I loved everything about that game.

The newest video about combat didn't look much like advancement as much as the same old same old LITERALLY and that has continuity and logic issues in it.

Also Dragon Age 2 sucked because they redesigned everything and didn't give it the time, but Mass Effect development is a bit different as the engine is there already.

i hope the main story and plot is batter. let fase it the main plot in ME2 was pretty shit, but i hope that was just because of it being the middle game (but it still had little to do with the main plot). i also want it to focus on the character from ME2. i would profer them to flush out old character than just adding new ones.

Also, I'm interested in the new design of the Paragon/Renegade bar... is it going to be more of a sliding scale thing? Or am I just blind and it's something completely different?

Trolling of the highest caliber. A highly derogatory and insulting comment on the quality of a game with a massive fanbase and critical acclaim like few other games even aspire to, and not a single reason was made to explain the issue. Instead the post goes on the assumption that everyone all agrees with the comment made with no further questions.

I give this one an A+, let's give him a hand ladies and gentlemen.

I meanwhile, am looking extremely forward to the game. The combat looks extremely good to me, but then again I found ME2's combat to be great and Dynasty Warriors as a whole to be passable, so obviously I just can't be listened to.

Honestly all the gameplay videos i've seen, it looks great, and in the end that's just a bonus, i'm very curious as to how the story will be wrapped, as i have no idea how they are going to do it.

plus it's all on you (the individual) if you let hype get to you, as i usually don't, so this game will be a blast for me no matter what i'm sure.

From what I read, every character that survived in ME2 would be in the game in one way or another. As far as I know, Legion will be in the game but it hasn't been confirmed whether or not he'll be a party member or not. Then again very few characters have been confirmed as party members(Ashley/Kaiden, Liara, Tali, Garrus, and what's-his-bucket-Jersey-Shore-dude) from what I've heard.

If you read otherwise, would you kindly point me to where you read it?

It wasn't. I've done four playthroughs and gotten all the achievements. I don't do that if it's utter crap. It's just no what the "fans" were used to and they got irate.

I think a lot to do with it too was that the best version of Origins was the PC one and the best of DA 2 is the console ones. So there might be some of that stupidity rearing its hideous head.

To be fair, many games are on the 2-3 year dev cycle: Mass Effect 2 included (and that game was spectacular).

I disagree. It was an all right game, but far below other games made by Bioware. Shoddy storytelling and horrendous railroading were two of the nails on the coffin of this game.

? I undid that in Mass Effect 2, for fuck's sake. They better have a damn good reason for having them turn sides.

More than likely because while what you did affected a great number of them, it didn't get them all. There are probably other cells that didn't/haven't reconnected to the main group of

I think Legion even mentions something like that at the end of his Loyalty Mission if you do use the virus, though I could be wrong.
