I've encountered one that gives you a number of circles and you have to click in the one open circle. But the circles are very light colors on a white backround so it can be kind of hard to tell which one is the open circle.

I'm colourblind so I would be completely useless at that.

Honestly, as much a pain in the ass as captchas are...It's better than being knee deep in bots.

Seriously, if anyone has been on screwattack in the last few months...holy crap. Every other comment is a !@#$ing spambot! It's gotten so bad I barely even check in there anymore.


EDIT: Also, my favourite anti-bot system was when I was playing Ragnarok online, and giving votes to my server. One of the voting sites asked you to click on a certain character. THAT was simple and clever.

I just had a captcha which required me to watch a Verizon advertisement to know what to type. Right here on The Escapist too...

To shame.
