Ha, if anything that sounds more entertaining. I wish Battle: L.A. had Keenan or Kel in it, would have added someone actually likable rather then Aaron Eckhart trying to do an Independence Day-esc speech at the end, topped off with another "HOO-RAHH!"

The correct answer is Plan Nine From Outer Space. It really is just THAT bad in all aspects.
You mean this movie

I have to say, it is hilariously bad. Especially the hubcap flying saucer.

Aliens with a severe weakness to water and inability to deal with blunt, wooden objects invade earth without any offensive tools besides their natural ability to poison someone from close distance. Yeah, a fucking stupid premise.
Touche. I'd forgotten about Signs (which you shouldn't hold against me because its a forgettable stupid movie). Could you imagine if M Night Shamalan and Steven Spielberg were to collaborate? shudder.

Battle: L.A., I watched that on a plane and I only remember seeing about half of it, the rest was me playing my PSP instead and being much more entertained. Everything about it cheesed me off no-end, if I heard someone shouting "Hoo-Rah!" one more time I wouldn't be held responsible.

Oppositely, I watched Attack The Block on another plane journey, a much better and actually decent alien-invader movie, all be it on a smaller scale. Characters seemed more interesting, the aliens different and creative, just watch that instead.
Aww. I thought Battle LA was great. It was cheesy and had all the war movie cliches, but the premise was fresh and cool to see.

Well, my original choice has been blown out of the water by other people suggesting Skyline. A film so bad that I literally erased it from my memory. But now its all coming back...

*The horror!*

Whats worse is the trailer for it didn't look half bad. Plus, Scottie Thompson was in it, which is always a plus.

Anyway, since other people have already voted for that, I'm going to say Mars Attacks.

Because seriously... Fuck that piece of shit.

Skyline
Battle Los Angeles (has a good trailer though)
Alien vs. Predator: Requiem

The Spielberg War of the Worlds has many bad things about it, but it does have about 3 cool shots in it, (and about only 3), so that raises it just slightly over the ones above.

Scary Movie 3 takes the piss out of War of the Worlds and Signs if you're looking for a good antidote.

Someone watched the nostalgia critic's review of that.

Pretty much have to agree with this. Signs had an incredibly stupid premise.

Signs. Aliens that are allergic to water invade a planet comprised almost entirely of water. My vote for worst film ever, not just worst alien invasion.
Ah, but planet earth has hardly any water at all, the trouble is that it's thinly spread in a ring round the planet's surface. Why the aliens had no kind of body armour but did have space ships, now there's one for the script writers...

Define: "hardly."

But Lusty is right, life that is allergic to water? Isn't a necessity for life in fact water?

As for the worst movie, I couldn't name it. But a long time ago when Syfy was called Sci Fi, there was this movie about aliens try to enslave humans. It started with some people in an airport in the middle of god damn nowhere, and some aliens showed up and turn into human look-a-likes as people at the airport start disappearing and being killed. So they all pull together or something and try to fix some old bi-plane there while other people go and find supplies in the airport. I guess they couldn't leave on-foot because there was nowhere to go or something.

I watched it when I was really young, the movie scared me shitless. Especially this one scene where to find out who was a human look-a-like and actually a person, they all went through a large body scanner that operated like a luggage scanner. So one guy gets on and the machine goes off with all the beeping and flashing, and it turns out the guy still had his phone on him. So he was fine and passed through. but then the old lady is next and she doesn't wan to go in. But she does and the screen that shows a scary ass looking skeleton and the machine beeps like crazy. It starts shaking and pulls the guy close to it in and eats him. the machine breaks or something and kill the alien too.

Anyway later you find out that the aliens are here to enslave humans... by starting in a small airport I guess and they all get left their after the last 2 people leave on that bi-plane.

If you know what movie this is please do tell.

Mars Attacks? What? That film is quality!

Can I vote for Super 8? It's not an alien invasion more per se, but still, it has an alien in it on earth so that's close enough. But seriously, people raved about this film? Completely underwhelming. I'd rather have watched a feature length version of the kids zombie film. Probably.

No. There's a necessity for life on this planet to have water, but that is not a universal fact that, in order to live, it requires water. I do not think that we should assume observations that are made from observing life on this planet to be a universal law.

No. There's a necessity for life on this planet to have water, but that is not a scientific fact that, in order to live, it requires water. I do not think that we should assume observations that are made from observing life on this planet to be a universal law.
All life in the universe probably uses water. It's properties to help form complex proteins and amino acids (and they think amino acids are universal) and for metabolizing food make it a necessity. It's also one of the most abundant molecules in the universe. So any life that forms will probably form in water.

I don't think that means life can't form without water, but it's really really unlikely. And they definitely won't be flying spaceships around.

To be honest, I thought they would use that to kill the Reapers in ME3.

Signs was bad, but Skyline... god, I hate that movie so much. Followed closely by World Invasion: Battle Los Angeles. COD meets Independence Day.
Ugh, me and around 50 other people just walked out of the theater halfway through Skyline, that movie broke something in me in what I can TOLERATE in a bad alien movie.

Signs. Fuck you, Mel Gibson. Fuck. You.

My biggest problem, within many, is that the aliens look like your stereotypical, uncreative humanoids with big-eyes. Here's what a real alien would look like: NOTHING LIKE A HUMAN. Not even a slightly similiar anatomy. If something's that far away from us, what're the chances of it looking similiar to us - none.
They need to make a movie where the Hanar invade. That would rule!
What are they going to do? Be pretentious, proper, and wave their tentacles in out faces saying, "This one wishes to take possession of your world."?

Well, Earth's mass is ninety nine percent metal or metal oxides. So all the water on earth makes up less than one percent of that total mass. From that, you could expect to have a solid chance of avoidinng water.

It just so happens that the less than a percent is in a gas and fluid film covering that has total and seventy percent coverage respectively. Suddenly, your chances are not so great...

But the idea of 'all the water' being in one spot is hilarious, maybe that was the alien's logic?

Yup, that would be my first pick too. With Battlefield: Earth and Transfromers 2 being close seconds.
At least Battlefield Earth is funnybad.

OT: My vote also goes to signs. Someone did point out once that the movie wasn't really about aliens and actually about the signs in day-to-day life and interpreting them correctly. On that premise, it wasn't awful, but they probably should have written it around a non-alien premise then. I laughed so hard when Stargate SG-1 made fun of it.

They finished probing me and now I can return to my normal logical completely non-alien self. So that means we they should come to greet them us with air tight suits and ships? got it.

I completely forgot about AvP: Requiem, and to think I was going to vote for skyline, Requiem makes the first AvP movie look like an Oscar contestant by comparison, how do you screw up a movie that badly?

While opinion of signs is subjective, that guy put out a terrible review, I almost want to do a video, dissecting that review and everything in it, because he does everything that you shouldn't in making that review.
