Why is Square the worst?
Their games just never resonated with me and by the look of their future games I don't think I ever will. Nothing personal Square, you just aint my type.

Valve and BioWare.

Obsidian get worst simply because they fucking infuriate me with stuff that I really want to be good, but just isn't - not anywhere near as good as it should be at any rate.
It could be, though, and that's what's so infuriating. An Obsidian game is like an exact relica of Michelangelo's Pieta made out of dog shit.
That actually made me laugh! Nice one.

I guess best: Konami
Capcom
Bioware
Bethesda

Worst: obsidian
Lucasarts
Treyarch
I haven't liked a Rockstar game since GTA: Vice City so them too I guess

Rareware would like a few words with you

as for my vote

the best company would be Treasure Inc.

and the worst, well it's already dead, but LJN

with one, and I repeat, ONE good game in their whole portfolio, Spiderman and Venom: Maximum Carnage

Best-SquareSoft
Enix

Before they combined, they came out with some of the best games ever. I don't hate Square Enix now, but I think most people will agree that their quality has reduced a lot compared to the older days when they didn't combine.

Worst-Obsidian/Bethesda

I honestly tried to get into their games, but I really can't. They have really good concepts, but their environments are all dull and their characters fall into the uncanny valley. This is ignoring the fact that they sell you a beta for full price and then fix it up later because god forbid they delay a game to make sure it's higher quality. At least they openly let their community mod their games.

Best--LucasArts (pre-Episode One)

Worst--LucasArts (post-Episode One)

Don't think I've ever seen a developer implode like that. I used to make a point of checking out theirback catalog because they have tons of under-appreciated gems. Now they're fucking gaming Kryptonite.

Pandemic has to be one of the ones I found to be great but thats probably just a bias since my favorite game to have ever been released has to be one of the two Battlezones.

Worst? Any developer who pushes a bug ridden piece of crap onto the store shelves and tricking consumers into buying something that /cant even be played/ till weeks after its release.

I have to say, Splash Damage are very high up on my list. Both ET: Quake Wars and Wolfenstien: ET freaking ROCKED, and post release support was second to none. They're also developing Brink, which looks absolutely brilliant. I hope they keep their post-release support record up for that one.

Favourite, though? Not sure. Maybe Pandemic, maybe Rockstar, maybe Splash Damage, maybe Insomniac, maybe Ruffian, maybe Bullfrog, and there's so many more. No idea. I have to give reflections special mention for actually naming a game Awesome Which is the best name for a game I have ever heard.

On the other end of the spectrum, there's Nintendo, who I don't like because they are pretty much artistically bankrupt at this point. When was the last new IP made by Nintendo that they put any effort into? Their last semi-original game was Mario Galaxy, which was good, but I just know they'll milk that series dry too. In fact, they have already begun to.

Worst:
Zynga (makes me wonder why anyone gives them money)

Best:
Valve (makes me feel good about giving them my money.)

Obviously there are a lot of good devs and bad devs out there, each with their own hits and misses, but if a dev makes me feel good for supporting it, or bad that some one else is supporting it, I say that is a good measure of their quality. Speaking purely on selfish instinct, I shouldn't like to give away my money to some one if I can help it. If a dev can override that instinct purely because it's them and not some one else, then they have done their job better than most.
