I watched one series called "Kemeko DX". Wrong in so many ways. Whatever happened to the Japanese art of understatement and control?

Special mention for the most dissapointing show I've ever watched: Cowboy Bebop. When all of anime fandom promises you the moon in this show, and it turns out to be boring, shallow, and disconnected (though quite stylish), you really know what it's like to be dissapointed. It's honestly the most dissapointing thing I've ever watched, ever. It wasn't terrible, but it was far cry from the 'greatest anime of all time' like so many people tout it to be.
I hyped it to some friends of mine and they were left completely cold, so yeah :\ But that's because it's not really a story or anything like. There's no overarching plot tying things together, nothing really important going on that you should be caring about. It's just a bunch of down-on-their-luck strangers trying to get along in a world (solar system) gone to crap, set to some very cool tunes and done with some real style.

So it's one of those shows you have to approach with no expectations, I guess. Once you do, it can get very good - I still rewatch Ballad of Fallen Angels from time to time.

It's one of those love it or hate it series. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who thought it was 'OK'. Pretty much the same with the rest of Shinichiro Watanabe-sensei's stuff.

Still got Kaze no Stigma in the 'to-watch' harddrive, is it just super-power-fight anime cliche?
RE Cowboy Bebop - I was actually under the impression that it was one of those 'everyone loves it' series, and that its detractors numbered in the negatives (i.e. anyone who thought it was bad got put in a loony ward). Outside of ignorant idiots who think all anime is bad, I'm still the only person I know of who didn't like the show.

RE Kaze no Stigma - Sort of, yes. It has a lot of super-power-fight stuff (and sometimes that involves grisly murders or broken hearts), but then the next minute it can be doing some stupid rom-com malarky with the two leads. Speaking of which, they're both really, really annoying. And sometimes it even buggers up the super-power-fight thing with a certain addition to the cast about halfway through the series. Best description I can think of is to imagine an 80% less likable and charming Full Metal Panic! with magic instead of mechs and if Sousuke was chanelling Ryoji Kaji via Edward Elric.

Apocalypse Zero, Doomed Metropolis, ans Miyuki-chan in Wonderland are the worst I can think of right now.

I don't remember the name but it involves a Giant robot coming out of this guy's forehead
That sounds like Fooly Cooly and that happens to be one of my favorites.

Not really bad in any way, but I personally did find Hellsing to be rather boring and uninteresting.
The original 13 episode series was TERRIBLE it kinda went off into its own retarded subplot and then finished the series off in a complete WTF moment. The OVA reboot were much much better.
You forget. the first series has one saving grace. (two if you count the english dub cast)

It's sound track.

It's quite possible the best sound track in existence.

And the reason it had to go off in it's own direction is because the project was having it's funding cut and I don't think Kato had gotten past his sixth novel at that point.

I still really liked that series. Despite it's odd ending and pretty bad animation. I think I prefer it to the OVA's. Alucards character is probably cooler in that than his is in the OVA's. It also doesn't have the annoying bursts of abstract humour that the manga series was prone to.

That's one thing I never got about some animes. They could be trying to be as serious as possible. Then they'd all suddenly shrink in size and start wiggling around like worms on acid, making daft noises and over exaggerating everything.

I think the OVA would have benefited from dropping that. Or just shoving them at the end of the episode like the first series did.
/agreed I find myself mentally editing out those shots and trying to see how you could stitch the show together without them. And for the love of all that's watchable, lose the cartoon gun "soul" dream sequences...

Never have I seen anything so incredibly disrespectful to it's source material. It is beyond words.

The two Macross Movies.
"We end wars with a singing ***** projected into space. Her songs will unite the universe!"
Nope, they won't.

That and Weißkreuz. Wow, what a pile of shit!

Evangelion:
I hate anime I don't understand. Despite watching the series and movies and then reading on wiki...I still don't understand Evangelion...as such, I consider it to be terrible. I realize that those who got some meaning out of this story love this particular anime and recommend it highly..so don't take my recommendation to seriously.

Akira:
I've never been able to watch Akira in full...so that would be by worst anime by another measure...for all I know, it becomes amazing after the first hour or so, but I'll probably never know.

Garzey's Wing. Oh, sweet Jesus is that a bad, bad series. Unlike most of the other series mentioned on this thread, I can't imagine anyone liking it outside a "it's so bad it's kind of funny" way.

If this is the worst you've ever seen then you have never, EVER seen a legitimately bad anime.

All the ones you listed have some redeeming qualities and can be enjoy by some people.

Don't make the mistake of thinking i like any of the stuff you listed, but come on.

Try digging up some obscure low production value shows from the eighties like Devil Hunter Yohko or things of that kind.
Yeah, well, that's why this thread is called 'Worst anime you have ever watched' and not 'Worst anime ever'

There're people who didn't? I never read the manga but the anime makes absolutely no sense.

I know people are going to want to beat me for this, but I really did not like Code Geass. I could never decide if the show was trying to be silly or serious political treatise and from what I can tell it was trying to be both. The world never gelled with me. Also, from what little of it I remember it had the same problem I had with Death Note of coming up with overcomplicated plans.
And then there was Princess Princess. A show with a comedic concept that forgot to bring the jokes. Or a yaoi series that forgot to bring the yaoi. Or anything interesting at all.
Edit: I forgot Eureka Seven *shudders*

I've never really seen an outright awful anime before but I will say that the 4Kids versions of One Piece, YugiOh, Bleach and... well anything else is just terrible and needs to be destroyed.

Actually, just get rid of 4kids. They need to go away forever.

Naruto....I'm sorry, but it's basically the ninja equivalent of Twilight. Although to be fair, i'd gladly watch Naruto over twilight anyday but the point still stands. Also Lucky Star.
