I jumped into Boogiepop Phantom at a random episode with no exposure to any other part of it's continuity. I hated it so much but there's a good chance it had something to do with not knowing anything about what was happening.
What episode was it? there's a good chance it didn't make sense or have relevance anyway...<.<
It had some creepy pervert guy with a simulated girlfriend and the episode featured him harassing this girl at work then losing his mind when his computer crashed.

Really off-putting and steered me away from that series forever.
Oh Yeah I remember that one... but honestly it's been a while since I've watched it though... I thought the show was pretty good...slow at times but worth watching... it really takes the anthology story telling route so it jumps back and forth between different people and events every episode to flesh out a coherent story, with the only thing tying them together being a certain strange event that started it all, so you really gotta see all of it to get what's going on... it's like watching Pulp Fiction...<.<
Yeah the circumstances were just unfortunate for it.

Yeah I first saw it at like 3 in the morning on the Funimation channel and I was confuse as hell because it was an episode from the middle of the series... but I saw people comparing it to Serial Experiments Lain so I gave it a try...<.<

The Fullmetal Alchemist anime was the reason I stopped watching anime, so I'd probably say that was the worst. Pity since the manga was actually pretty damn cool, but I guess they thought making the anime shit was a better idea?
sorry for the double post but I didn't see this.
It is still one of my favorite anime series ever but I will say that it failed the Fullmetal Alchemist name.
I liked the manga. I read, I think, 40 chapters of it, and it was good. The show started really good as well, and then it started to go downhill. I tried to remain objective, I tried to stay with it, but then it got to that episode that started with Roy contemplating suicide and the glasses dude (name?) talking him out of it in this completely apathetic voice, and I gave up. Way too emo, couldn't handle it, I never looked back. And then I couldn't bring myself to finish the manga either. Yet another example of the anime ruining the manga. :/

Avenger: Just... nothing fucking happened in that Anime. That and the soundtrack by JamProject was too avant-garde for me to enjoy.

iki tousen it just sucked the soul right out of you.honestly its like they took everything that makes an anime bad and thought if you cover it up with enough panty shots that you can make it good.

There was a Mystery Anime Theater 3000 panel I once attended at an anime con. I remember the fact that I did, but I can't even remember what we watched exactly. It was THAT BAD.

Any giant robot anime really, could never really get into them.

One anime I love however: Black Butler

Sekirei was just terrible. All fan service.
Orphen was meh but what pushed it into the will not watch pile was the comic relief. It was painful to listen to.

Linebarrels of Iron. My god that show was awful. Horrible character AND mecha design plus a main character that was a complete ass for no reason? I'm surprised I made it to episode 4.
There is your problem, the first 4 or 5 episodes are just the main character being a whiny kid, at least after that it is no worth then any other generic shonen.

OT: I really hated the ending to Code Geass and Buso Renkin. They weren't bad other than that but I just didn't like the endings.

sorry...all of it. I just don't like it. I respect it as an art form, it's just not the art I enjoy

I tried Lucky Star once and. I could not get into it. I just did not understand.
Could be because there's no story. I loved that show for some reason. :p
It's a show about nothing. Seinfeld managed to do it.

That's why I was so happy when they made the real FMA anime last year instead of that filler garbage made by someone other than the original author. Brotherhood is the manga brought to the screen.
