That I actually got through?

Shuffle.

I did not like Shuffle, and to this day wonder to myself why I ever completed it. I played the game and that was much better, if only for the sake of porn scenes.

There are probably hundreds of ones I would've hated but I tend to give up on them as soon as signs go bad. I simply don't have the time to waste on stuff I don't like, especially with the almost dozens of new shows that Japan keeps pumping out every season.

And perhaps even more shows I just plain don't remember. I can't even remember what the hell Kampfer was about but I remember I didn't like it. Same goes for Ichiban Ushiro no Daimou, and "happiness".

Evangelion.

It started out alright, but the ending was just soo soo bad that it immediately moved the entire anime into the "worst show I've ever watched all the way through" category.

Apparently the movies fixed the ending of the series, but I couldn't be arsed to care at that point.
Welp.

The thing(s) you have to realize about evangellion's original series is that at the end the budget was low, they were getting criticized for the content of it, and most of the leads were becoming progressively more and more depressed to the extent that they had to be put on anti-depressants after they finished.

They were getting death threats over the ending for the series too.

Ultimately they just didn't get to deliver what they wanted to- the movies fix that. I'd also recommend watching the rebuild.

The thing about anime is that its never really a catastrophic failure- most anime has a manga as source material and they're usually picking what's already popular so its kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.

Still, if I had to say...

Worst communication for an anime:
Elfen Lied. Director completely disregarded everything pitched as satire on attempts at deep plot as.... deep plot. Fan-freaking-tastic. What results is an anime that's either extremely stupid or just incredibly hilarious if watched in the right way.

Worst timing to run out of cash:
(surprise) Evangelion. Anyone who's watched the last few episodes can tell you it's terrible. Set the premise for all future deconstruction animes that everyone must die. You're not just knocking over the dominoes you spent the last 18 episodes setting up, you're up-ending the table, driving a semi truck into the house, burning the place down and then nuking the town from high orbit.

Worst Communicated anime:
Foolie Coolie. Don't get me wrong, it's a great show. The only problem is that they were trying to be silly and seemed to have accidentally made one of the deepest anime, ever, and did it in less than 10 episodes. There's 100+ episode series that fail at that same attempt.

These threads seem to jump in every other week.

I personally believe that animes get worse the more you watch them, like I used to like a lot of animes until I watched about two or three seasons and then just kinda realized they were shit.

To be fair I have only watched 2 anime but of those two one was vastly inferior. Naruto has become something of a guilty pleasure every Thursday, while Bleach was a colossal failure to me.

I persevered yet to no end. the setting and characters are charmless and uncreative, the combat sections (which cannot be disregarded as they are the bulk of the show) feature no tactics or technique. Ichigo gets injured but charges up something he hasn't tried in battle before and then he wins. If he doesn't win after charging up the first time he does it some more then wins. Its tactical genius.

So the combat is dull but maybe it serves some plot purpose like it's a vehicle for Ichigo's maturity or something? Nope, ichi learns nothing at all, by the end of the first series he is just as much of a block headed tool as the start. Even worse nobody dies, ever. So the initial perceived sense of danger diminishes with each battle and you come to realize that Naruto might be a show about super powered magic ninja's but its still waaay more adult than Bleach because it at least acknowledges death, sorrow and tragedy while Bleach might as well be set in f**king lazytown.

For me it is a tie between:

Dragon Ball Z or pro wrestling as an anime with less of a plot and fights that last 3 or 4 episodes and are 70% people standing still screaming. Woooo!

and the lets scream Inuyasha, Kagome for like half an hour show.
Sure Dragonball Z started to fall into this after the Frieza saga, but Dragonball is a great anime and so is Dragonball Z. Sure they stand around pooping themselves for 5 episodes, but at least when something happened it was the most badass 15 minutes on TV.

Such a good series.

Saying that though Dragonball GT is probably the worst anime I have ever seen.

It has to be tied with Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, and post-first season Pokemon and Yugioh.
What are you talking about? Dragon Ball Z was like that from the very beginning, always standing around powering up and taunting each other, watching them charging a super for a whole episode to find it does fuck all in the next. Then the other parts were filled with cliche crap, clumsy character moments, angry women & drama queens, flash backs and random filler. I think I watched Goku charge up a spirit bomb for 20 episodes, just to find out it didn't do jack.

Dragon Ball wasn't as slow as DBZ but really childish, really really childish. There is no way your going o convince us it's great.
"Us"? Who is this "us" you speak of? You mean no one will convince "you" Dragonball was great.

I am sure a lot of people agree with me just as they agree with you.

I think the fact that you stayed and watched 20 episodes of Goku powering up a spirit bomb means deep down you liked it.

Wait Dragonball was childish? A children's show? No way!? Haha next you're going to tell me Shindler's List was dramatic!
First of: Us. As in Nautical Honors Society and me.

Second: I watched it when I was kid. I used to like many things that had a lot of flash, stupid humour and sensless violence, but then I grew up.

Third: *sigh* Don't make it difficult to respect you, there was no reason to be a smarty pants. If you respond rudely because you hate seeing an opposing opinion then that's very immature and you probably shouldn't be here.

First anime to come to mind right away is Karin. Now I LOVED the manga, but the anime...geez. Half the characters and half the plot are replaced by something completely different.

Kaleido Star comes too mind to just because throughout the ENTIRE series I was screaming to the main character, "Get the CRAP out of everyone's FREAKING business!"

Next to come to mind would be Death Note but that is an anime I have never actually seen nor a manga I have actually read. I don't like it because when it first became ridiculously popular, my friends were bloody OBSESSED with it, and I do mean OBSESSED! Seriously, I thought it was a yaoi for the longest time because of them that's how OBSESSED they were.

and oh yeah almost every single mainstream anime I don't like.

Wow the first page and no flammers?! Guess escapist community has more open minds than most other gaming sites.

Anyway:
Naruto
(Cause its not that engaging and it takes too damn long to get on with the damn story like THE PARTS WITH ACTION AND SHIT I ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT.)

sonic x
(i watch it cause its the only sonic related thing on tv. Some episodes actually give off a nostalgic and even epic feel while other episodes makes me feel like my I.Q dropped a hundred fold.)

Yu gi oh (sucked, after the original cast was removed)

(card games on motorcycles....obvious the creators were on somethin when they came up with this. But my God the newest Dragon ball show in japan is even more god awful.)

Bleach
(one of the most boring and obnoxious anime I ever had the displeasure to watch. I kept an oath that next time a friend suggest an anime keep an alcoholic beverage close by.)

I hate the anime style in general because of over the top storyline, too much filler, humor is obnoxious 9 times out of 10. And teens of my generation highly overrate it.

I had posted a whole freakin essay on another site to back up my reasoning's to the masses that hate different opinions since apparently it was beyond comprehension.

But not tonight...er today.

I find it very curious that anyone disliked FLCL. Then again, I do have a preference for stuff that people consider to be mindfucking, and my first encounter with it happened when I was half asleep and delirious, so I think that helped. By the way, does anyone have a suggestion, I could seriously go for something wonderfully insane.

oh ya the tv ending is complete shit but i mean the studio was going under they had no funding or anyone working for them at the end they did what they could. the movie is a much better ending.

i haven't really watched all that much anime but the last 2 episodes of Evangelin were pretty much the worst thing i have ever seen
this is relevant to the topic at hand
<youtube=oL8pvC3mxGo>
I love the voice actor for this, he knew this made no sense.
I kinda like the ending, you can argue that shinji experienced the events of the final two episodes when the instrumentality occurred in End of Evangelion.
That video, that was perfect explination of the ending, by the actor himself. That was hilarious!

I'd have to say Tokyo Mew Mew, an obvious cash-in of the Sailor Moon franchise after taking out all the complexity, the characterisation, the actual bloody drama and replacing all of it with even longer transformation sequences and attack footage that lasts forever. Tokyo Mew Mew gives off the vibe of a series that tries its best to be in the league of its predecessor, but it forgets the crucial point that the past is something to succeed and surpass, not to live up to.

ON-TOPIC:
I don't have any I swear are completely horrible...past Bobobobobobo...
but there's some I won't watch and will switch the channel if it comes on.

Bleach and High School of the Dead. Could not get into HSotD at all, and after a while I started to not enjoy Bleach. Mostly because I only liked...three characters? And it wasn't the main one.

OFF-TOPIC:
This thread has taught me something about life.

Oh, oh wow, sooooo many choices. Let's see, if I had to choose I'd go with "Needless".

+Retarded, rip-off story.

+Pointless characters.

+Plot holes everywhere.

+Painful writing/voice acting.

+An end credit sequence that can only be described as child porn.

+And the single stupidest line I've ever heard in my life: "His only weakness is little girls" *shudder*

My runner up would be "Dark King", but that was so awful that it was hilarious. And it's protagonist won the award for the single most overpowered thing in anime history. (And that's saying something)

Linebarrels of Iron. My god that show was awful. Horrible character AND mecha design plus a main character that was a complete ass for no reason? I'm surprised I made it to episode 4.
There is your problem, the first 4 or 5 episodes are just the main character being a whiny kid, at least after that it is no worth then any other generic shonen.

OT: I really hated the ending to Code Geass and Buso Renkin. They weren't bad other than that but I just didn't like the endings.
I never GOT to the ending of Code Geass. After I realized that Lelouche had an infallible "I WIN" card, I gave up.

At least Naruto and Ichigo can lose once in a while. Lelouche just went, "*****, please *opens eye* *gains fucking ARMY*"
Did you stop in the first or second season? Cause there are a few times when Lelouche kinda ends up worse off.

You know this thread is about listing the worst anime you have ever watched right? But it seems as though you came here just to pick a fight with me. Sure you could argue you were going to say DBZ is the worst anime, but in reality that would just be a cover for you not actually responding to the thread at all.

If you respond to people completely ignoring the purpose of the thread because you feel the need to call someone out with an opposing opinion then that's very immature and you probably shouldn't be here.

This has gotten silly, and I don't want to hijack this thread any further, please resist the urge to respond to this because I will no longer continue this conversation.

OT: Naruto, Bleach, One piece, and Dragonball GT are some pretty bad anime.

I also like intrigue. Plots and scheming, which is why I was deeply moved and entertained by Death Note and Code Geass (and I must stop there lest I spew acid on dissenters), but I should probably get back to mentioning something that others should avoid...

I guess the Gundam 00 movie wasn't too nice, but some might label it a disappointment.
Setsuna was outright useless most of the time, and then they pulled a "Let's be Friends!" ending. The "antagonist" was also repetitive and boring.

Glass Fleet had some nice action sequences, but it did have a few issues, the greatest of which was it's blatant violation of physics and biology (saying that may sound quaint when talking about anime, but if you've seen the series you'd know why).

You might wanna give One Piece another try. I'm up-to-date on all the manga chapters, so I know that about halfway in it gets kinda boring... but once (SEMI-SPOILERS) the time skip happens, it gets REALLY interesting.
Off Topic: That is a poorly chosen statement. The time skip is way too late in the series for your suggestion to hold any sway in pulling in a fan.

I personally found MD Geist to be under the category of Hilariously Bad for me.

On Topic:
Burst Angel - Greg Ayres sure does know how to ruin a series for me.

Bleach - for the obvious invincibility of most if not all of the characters. Can't help but feel sorry for Chad though, always gaining an increase of power only to take a swift nap in the dirt, sand, etc.

Blassreiter - I couldn't get past maybe five minutes of the first episode. Gratuitous CG is a major turn off for me, and I rarely ever enjoy anything that uses it.

High School of the Dead - I've only seen one clip of an episode. The part where the boy slams the injured girl onto the ground, uses her bosom to steady his aim, and then proceed to miss every fucking shot he fires at the horde of zombies standing shoulder to shoulder ten feet away. Then there's the part where the camera follows the bullet to the chick with the bokken and it shows the bullet passing between her breasts SEVERAL times in slow-mo. Her breasts should have been ripped apart by the sheer speed of how fast they would have to jiggle to do what they did.

Soul Eater - For the same reason the first Full Metal Alchemist didn't sit to right with me. The anime got to the point where it was equal to the manga in it's story, so they decide to do whatever the fuck they want and end it with some bullshit feel good moment.

Most of the mainstream animes that get a gratuitous amount of hype and fanbase usually end up on my shit list.

The new Iron Man and Wolverine anime's. Both heroes look and sound like pedophiles.

But the shitty trophee goes to Armageddon. An extremely poor korean abomination.

Gundam has been SHIT since after Gundam X.

Every single series, Seed, 00 etc. has been a modern rehash of 0079.
