Family Guy. It's poorly written, weak in humour and adored by young-teens who prefer its crudity and irrelevance over subtle and intelligent humour.
I agree.
It seems it's only liked by 12 year old who want to look "older."

My sister (aged 12( I think)) watches Disney Channel and although it's not all cartoons I've seen the worst acting of my entire life on that channel. I'm Positive I could do a better job without a shadow of a doubt.

the cartoons are pretty bad too have any of you ever just watched a cartoon, no sound just watched and realised how dumb it is?

BeyBlade or Bakugan. They're the same show so I think it qualifies as one pick. Terrible voice acting, plot, and idk pitch? There doesn't seem to be a point but sell even worse toys in the cheapest way possible.

More people need to watch 6Teen. It is made by the same guys who did Total Drama Island, but it is much better. Six people hang out in a mall and weird shit happens. Also, Jude is a flippin' stoner in everything but name.

Shame the states are so freaked out by nudity.

..... That show has nudity?

... The fuck?

OP: Fanboy and something. That one show on Nick.
Occasionally. Black bar censors of course, but its apparently enough to keep it from the States. The show is still hilarious. It's played for laughs anyways.

Yeah, I saw the show back in the day. It was like a cartoon version of Mall Rats, I always liked it.

Fixed for ya. There is nothing redeeming about yu-gi-oh, any season.
You hated it, that's fine but I did like session 1 though but grow out of it vary fast.
No, I didn't hate it, it was bad. There's a difference. I'm not making a statement of personal preferences, I'm making a statement of it's overall quality.

Critically examined the characters trite and went through no interesting development, the story was cliched and stilted, the plot was poorly executed, and frankly has no redeeming value as a show.

A reasonable diversion for a young child, but not "good" by any stretch of the imagination.
You do have a good point there, I stand corrected
I guess it was a long time ago I just defending by nostalgia.
That's pretty much what most of this thread is about tbh, people just don't realize that currents shows haven't had the 20 years to filter out the crap, and furthermore they don't realize how they say this stuff at the perfect age to be entranced by it, so nostalga improves views of a lot of crap.

Nice to see somebody that can admit they're wrong on the internet though, props.

Hmm I actually have to think about this. I was gonna say the new stuff on cartoon network, but most of it's actually pretty decent stuff.

Wait, I got it. The Wolverine anime:

You could say I'm cheating, if you qualify anime and cartoons as two separate things, but I don't they're both animation and in my eyes, both cartoons. Plus I can't think of anything else.

Oh and as for the anime itself, well I wonder who thought it was a good idea to have an anime about Wolverine that completely disregards almost everything about him as a character. It goes deeper than him looking just wrong, granted his appearance is a part of why it doesn't work, but it's not the only reason.
Actually, he looks pretty good in that picture. If I hadn't seen that trailer a while back, I'd wonder what the hell you were talking about.

What's with all the Yu-Gi-Oh! hate? It's good cheesy fun, just like any Shonen anime. The new one in Japan (ZEXAL) is absurdly bad though (Like GX). 5D's is actually pretty damn good for the first 64 episodes, and I will stand by that. Yes, it asks you take a card game seriously, but elsewise it's a decent dystopian monster battle Shonen show.

Although, I definitely have nostalgia goggles for the franchise and still play the card game, so feel free to completely ignore me.

What in the blue hell...how did...what...WHY?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?! This wins the thread. This is the worst modern cartoon. I can at least watch the other cartoons without severe eyestrain. This...whatever the fuck it is, is physically painful to watch. This is to cartoons as The Shaggs are to music. Holy shit. I mean, I was gonna say Squidbillies but...DAMN. I'd watch a marathon of Squidbillies before sitting through another minute of that.

So. Many. Shows.

Kid's shows were alot better back in the early 90's, grew up on DBZ, BeyBlades, Digimon, Thomas The Tank Engine, Sam and Max. (I did anyway.)

Now its all this educational crap like Dora The Explorer and shit.
I think every generation views the TV shows they grew up with as the best.

OT: Spongebob Squarepants, It used to be one of my favorite shows but now it's been milked to death and it feels like the writers just don't care anymore. It should have ended a long time ago.

Pretty much. It was cheesy fun for 9 year olds, but has the approximate cultural value of a dead squirrel and the entertainment value of watching paint dry if you're not in that age group.

Actually, the vast majority of the shonen genre can be characterized this way as well.

Also, decent shonen is like saying "decent human being that's a serial killer", you've set the bar so low that rising above doesn't actually mean much.

I have to say I've gotten a couple responses and yours was the funniest and captured my exact reaction after the first time I watched that lol

It's been years and years since I've watched a modern kid's show. Except for MLP, which I like, but that's a big damn can of worms that I'm not touching.

Instead, Spongebob Squarepants. See, it's alright to have characters that are pants-on-head retarded, as long as there's a straight/only sane character to be played off, someone the viewers can somewhat relate to. To give you a perfect example, Looney Tunes. The goofiness of every other character worked because of how clever and sane Bugs Bunny was.
With Spongebob, there isn't anyone who's really "normal" enough to relate to. Squidward comes close, but he's so frumpy and negative and tightly wound and all-around an unlikeable tool. This COULD work if the other main characters weren't as pants-on-head retarded as they are. Or maybe if Spongebob and Patrick had moments of genuine competence. But no, they just run around on meth.
Okay, there's Sandy, except she's a happy enabler to Spongebob. That's a no go.
Also, Spongebob's laugh. If there is a hell, that laugh is part of the soundtrack.

Squidbillies. Ye gods, I just can't figure out how Adult Swim viewers allowed this to go on longer than three episodes. I thought of asking how it got aired in the first place, except Adult Swim hasn't really been all that strict with the quality of their original shows.

That's a stupid thing to ask. Regardless if you like it, removing it from the hypothetical list of bad cartoons is just pure favoritism.
What this guy said. I don't have anything against MLP, but saying "Which cartoon do you hate most, and OH, YOU CAN'T SAY THE ONE I LIKE!" doesn't really make for a fair enquiry, does it? I know you said you wanted to avoid a flame war, but hey, who's telling you someone won't take offence to a cartoon THEY like, and start a flame war based on that? It's a risk you take, and getting rid of it by eliminating your favorite from the "what's worst" competition is not the best choice.

That said, it's no longer aired, but "Transformers Animated" made want to throw the TV out the window. And I can't find "Drawn To Life" funny. At all. Ever.

I'm going to have to disagree with the "approximate cultural value of a dead squirrel" thing, there's a lot of cultural value in a series that utilizes different cultures to make up it's mythology. The Peruvian stuff in 5D's is surprisingly accurate, as was the Egyptian study of the afterlife in the original (Duel Monsters) series. As for "entertainment value of watching paint dry", that's purely subjective.

Also, there are plenty of Shonen series that could be described as above "decent", some popular ones that I've seen critically praised are Claymore, Death Note, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Although, they are the exception, I think it's enough to rise the remark to above "better than a serial killer". I could say the same about any medium and genre.

The remake of Thundercats. Ewww
Sort of like the original, right?
Yes, but the original has the benefit of nostalgia.
While this one feels like the creators went: Let's make Naruto! (and avatar)

The only reason they could call it Thundercats is that they kept the name and race of the characters but the old series started with them leaving the planet and this one went, Nope. We're gonna stay.

bleh

I know that I'm too old to enjoy it but damn this makes me angry just watching

Isn't Wolverine a registered trademark by Marvel Studios, which is now owned by Disney?
This Wolverine anime you just mentioned, is it on Cartoon Network or on the Disney Channel? If it's on Cartoon Network, it would be kind of weird, considering CN is owned by the Time Warner.

Talking about Walt Disney, I'll get back to the OT: Even though the new Cartoon Network cartoons are but a shadow of the channel's past glory with Toonami (I miss The Big-O and Dragon Ball), Ed, Edd & Eddy and the likes, some of the new cartoons, such as Chowder, are actually pretty decent and imaginative, but most people today only seem to consider the horrid crap that is Transformers Animated, the Ben 10 sequels and spin-offs like Generator Rex, Johnny Test, and Flapjack. Don't get me wrong on Ben 10 though, the first series was a novelty, a breath of fresh air, but all the merchandising, films (I still remember that horrible live-action movie) and constant reboots of the series with Alien Force and Ultimate Alien both make no sense as to the continuity and lore and come across as being big fat marketing ploys and quick cash-grabs with the aforementioned merchandise, as if Man of Action completely sold out.

I haven't watched cable TV in years on account of internet. But from what I can remember Johnny Test was pretty horrible.

On a different note, why all the hate for the Wolverine Anime? Am I the only one who actually enjoyed it?
