I was just on my latest Baldur's gate playthrough when I happened to stumble across the most annoying video game character in the world.... Noober.

This character doesn't look like much does he? WRONG! He is the pure essence of irritation. You cannot simply walk away, for he will stop you again and again until he has said this entire conversation. It takes about 5 minutes for him to finally shut the fuck up. (Obviously this is when Bioware had a sense of humour)

(This is in 32 segments, he says one sentence, then a brief pause before interrupting you AGAIN!)

Hi, I'm Noober. Nice place, huh?

So, killed any monsters yet?

Ever been to Baldur's Gate? I've been to Baldur's Gate.

Ugh, I think i stepped in something.

Everyone in town used to throw rocks at me and tell me I was annoying.

What time is it?

I haven't had a conversation this long, well...ever!

What's that big weapon for?

Those colours look pretty stoopid on you...

I once knew this guy called Dilby. He threw rocks at me too. Are you gonna throw rocks at me?

What about now?

Gee, you sure are patient. I've run out of things to say.

I listen to this entire conversation since at the end of it you receive a reward of 400XP which is kind of worth the annoyance in the early game. Once I have my reward I then proceed to murder Noober since it gives me such a sense of satisfaction.

Your turn escapists, who is your "Worst character ever"?

Such a pathetic character, struggled to beat each villain, died a few times, got his ass kicked again, then his girlfriend ran away from the guy who killed him.

Fuck you Yamcha.

Fu Shi Ren and Mi Fang from Dynasty Warriors 4.

Those two traitorous bastards made Fan Castle one of the most irritating and difficult battles.

And the worst part is that even after killing them their influence continues and soldiers keep defecting.

Kai Lang from Mass Effect 3.

There are many villains that make you hate them because of how evil and twisted they are, there are few that cause hate just by how pointless, stupid, and unnecessary they are to the story.

I was just thinking that :D

Guy comes out of nowhere and we're supposed to hate him? I wouldn't mind if fighting him was difficult in any way, but then after was it supposed to be an 'epic fight', plot armour comes along and saves his arse.

This fucker right here.

The only character in any media who actually gets worse at what he does with the more experience he gets.

People will suspect his immortality otherwise.

How? He's murderous and cocky, yes. But the rest, how???

On the subject of absolutely terrible characters and plummeting to lower levels of intelligence:

That is all.

Why did you have to remind me of HIM!? "Heya! Heya! Heya! Heya!" "NO NOOBER! SHUT THE FUCK UP!" God I hated that guy.

Anywho, playing BL2 reminded me of the Claptraps in the first Borderlands. They were almost as bad as Noober. They were sooo fucking annoying, you couldn't even kill them unlike Noober.

They even try to have Anderson vouch for the guy by stating how he had a history with Kai Lang and what a badass he was. Nice try, Bioware.

It reminded me of what Yahtzee said about HL2: Episode 2; "It's like coming home from school to find a walrus sitting at the table, and nobody seems to notice."

As soon as I realised he was Asian and used a sword, I just about died of laughter over how ridiculous that was.

Just the fact that he uses a sword in a universe where everyone has laser guns was enough for me. The guy could've easily accomplished his mission to assassinate the salarian councilor if he had a Black Widow.

The use of projectile weapons must be against his totally-badass-cyborg-ninja code.

Liu Shan had the following statline in Romance of the Three Kingdoms 9: 3, 2, 4, 7.

These ratings are out of 100.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Well, it's hard for me to pin down beyond a reason of a doubt, my total least favorite character, but I have a top Three.

3. Hans Grosse from Wolfenstein(The Activision Game)

Why? Repetitive one-liners to death. URGH.

2. Slade from Turok

Holy shit, what a downer he is. I shouldn't have to explain why him being around grates my nerves, do I?

1. Kurt Zisa(Kingdom Hearts)

.....Major DAFAQ-ness. So much jumping, so much concentrated irritation, makes me want to chuck my controller through the window as hard as possible.

Seeing as how Kai Leng has been stated, let me think about...
Ah, yes.

Delphine, of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. She's fine early on in the main quest, but as you learn more about the Greybeards, their leader, and the history of the Dragons, her likeability plummets.

The point where she crosses the line is the part where her interests and yours intersect after you find out the history of the Greybeards. Ideally with this newfound development, you should get presented with the choice to definitively side either with the Blades, or with the Greybeards.
Nope!
She just automatically dumps the Quest "Parthurnaax" in your journal, and there's nothing you can do about it. You can't hammer home the point that you're never going to do this, she just assumes you're going to sooner or later, and puts up the irritating "don't come back until it's done" act.
You can't kill her, despite the fact she's no longer truly essential to the story at this point. You can't remove the quest unless you finish it or find a way to glitch, exploit, or mod it out. Where you can permanently lose the Greybeards' trust by finishing the quest, there's no road you can take to do the same with and/or destroy the Blades.

As a 360 owner and someone who likes to keep their quest journal clean, this irritates me.

I'm going to go with the either smartass or grim badass that is the vast majority of action game protagonists. Look at most modern action game protagonists, you could trade all the PCs around and pretty much nothing changes.
