I remembered playing San Andreas when I was playing Grand Theft Auto IV and I realized how completely different the cheats worked (I rarely use cheats and I don't play IV often), anyways I thought to myself what was the most worst cheat effect you have seen/used. Mine would be on GTA-San Andreas, Gimp suit cheat...Fail! what would be the most horrible cheat effect you have seen?

star wars shadow of the empire on the nintendo 64.
A wierd cheat, to enable it you had to hold down buttons on both the left hand side and the right hand side of the controller, AND the analoge stick aswell (meaning the use of chin and/or tounge)
The cheat unlocked no clip, god mode, etc. However more useless functions of it: hue, saturation, other colour things.

No clipping always pisses me off, for some reason. It just seems weird to me, like you're playing an unfinished game.

I've always hated the stupid "big head" cheats in any game, so I guess that's the worst cheat for me.
Like in Tony Hawks...To name one?

Yeah for me the worst cheat ever has got to be one. (i can't remember exactly what RTS it was in) but you type it in and your civilization just blows up and you loose... many many uses for that.or possibly any "i win" cheats where you just get victory... i can't decide what is worse.

I remember in Age of Empires if you types in HARI KARI you'd lose the game.

There was also a cheat code that gave you a baby on a tricycle as a unit, pretty sure he had a gun though so he wasn't completely useless.

Big Heads - I just can't stand them as they just downright break the mood for me

But then again, have you seen Angry Video Game Nerd on Frankenstein games? Holy hell, that last game sure had sucky cheat codes.

"Almost invincibility"
"Die in 1 hit"
just 2 of them I can remember from the top of my head now.

Any useless ones, an example being big head. I feel like a tool with it on Goldeneye for N64.
Big heads is not technically useless on shooters like Goldeneye because in theory it allows much easier headshots. However, I almost never used it, and when I did, it was for laughs, not for any practical purpose.

I can't actually think of any really bad cheats, but then, I've barely known any cheats for any games.

Best cheat was hands down Bullet Fire in Red Faction 2, all bullet weapons lit enemies on fire. Awesome. It was especially cool to use in a level where it was raining xP

Surely that isn't a sucky cheat, that would be awesome?

Ok, I kid, I kid, I'm older than fourteen, seriously. Ah well, I wanted to get that game anyway, so I might take a look at that cheat. Probably won't though. Anyway, my contribution to the thread, before I go too far off-topic (too late). In Star Wars Battlefront 2, there's a cheat (can't remember what it is) that makes you invincible and another to give you infinite ammo. Now, that's all well and good, you say. What's so wrong with that? Well, I'll tell you. Where's the fun? Where's the sense of achievement in running around gunning everything down without thinking and never getting hurt? We aren't fratboys, people. I like to think we Escapists have a little more respect than to do that.

Ahem.
