I hate any cheat that gives a person invincibility or regenerates health or something along those lines. I don't cheat, so those guys really piss me off. Or the cheats in sports games that grant automatic points, like a home-run cheat in baseball or an instant goal shot in hockey.

one game i played years ago (cant remember what sorry) had a cheat to make you lose which i always thought was kinda pointless given the existance of a quit button.

I hate the instant money cheat in Sim City 4. It's not even hard to make cash in that game, and you have to be failing pretty hard not to.

god mode. It takes the fun out of the game, and you don't even notice becouse you're to buisy sadisticly shove blunt sticks into natzi eyesockets. The empathy for gamecharacters dissapear, and with it, all immersion.

I personally don't use cheats but I know that in a racing game (sry I can't remember the name) there is a cheat that makes your opponents 4 times slower...what so bad about it ? well the problem is that it makes you 4 times slower

I remember playing Tomb Raider and finding out the cheats to give you all the guns and skip a level (I think it was walk forward once, walk backward once, turn around three times then jump forward or backward). When I was younger (and stupid), I exploited the hell out of that cheat.

So when Tomb Raider 2 came out, I expected the same cheats to work for some reason (once again: young, stupid). So, forward once, backwards once, turn around three times, jump forward...and EXPLODE!

God mode, kills the fun from any game. I rarely cheat, i only cheat if it makes the game more fun, like low gravity so you can jump high or any cheat that makes the game more enjoyable or funnier.

There was a cheat in a medal of honour game (Rising Sun?) where it gave the enemies GIANT hats ranging from Top hats to fried eggs. You never got caught by surprise.

I`m not sure what th worst cheat would be, but the best ive ever used was in Soul Reaver Defiance where you could shange Kain`s Soul Reaver into a cardboard tube When the cheat was activated you would hear him say "fear the tube."

Actually, in Rise of the Triads (1995 if memory serves) God mode was more original.
It made you as much of a real God as it could; you could fly around and had an awesome weapon; your hand would extend and shoot an instant kill Lightning.

This in a shooter where you'd normally just run around firing guns was a great addition for that time period.

In Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
When you type in money and a number in the consol you think you will get som cash.
But it makes all female npcs breasts gigantic.

Surely that isn't a sucky cheat, that would be awesome?

Ok, I kid, I kid, I'm older than fourteen, seriously. Ah well, I wanted to get that game anyway, so I might take a look at that cheat. Probably won't though. Anyway, my contribution to the thread, before I go too far off-topic (too late). In Star Wars Battlefront 2, there's a cheat (can't remember what it is) that makes you invincible and another to give you infinite ammo. Now, that's all well and good, you say. What's so wrong with that? Well, I'll tell you. Where's the fun? Where's the sense of achievement in running around gunning everything down without thinking and never getting hurt? We aren't fratboys, people. I like to think we Escapists have a little more respect than to do that.

It is sucky for when you cheat for money you type in 1000000000.
But when you type in that the breasts cover the entire map!

I believe there was a cheat for Goldeneye on the N64 ... that made your enemies invincible. I remember being stuck on the final level because the main bad guy [whose name I can't remember] refused to die or go to the place where he is supposed to go when it is time for him to die
