Worst combat in a hack 'n slash game?

Hack n' slash games are everywhere these days with titles like God of War, Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry being sort of the three 'big names' in this genre. To be fair I can't actually judge these three titles as the only hack 'n slash game I ever got into was Otogi: Myth of Demons, on the original Xbox.
However I now intend to ask what combat based game (strictly Hack 'n Slash) do you think has the worst combat? The most broken combat, the combat with the worst controls or even just the most boring combat in general?
I'd like to mention Too Human but really, that's too obvious so I'll go with Fable 2, sure some parts are really satisfying but other parts just plain suck... like the troll encounters. Whoever decided that standard attacks SHOULD NOT WORK and instead we must try to target tiny little bulbs on the troll that will never, ever be in a clear line of sight should be kicked in the balls. And yes I'm aware that it isn't a 'true hack n' slash game' doesn't make the combat any better.
However that's just me... what hack n' slash game (or beat 'em up... sorry forgot to mention that) do you think has the worst combat, broken, glitchy, unresponsive or just plain dull... which do you think has it the worst?

Loki. It was SOOOO... buggy and hard.

Is Fable 2 really, REALLY a Hack and Slash? Really? I don't believe so. It's more of an action-RPG with a huge focus on the action aspect.

It's the closest thing I got, I refuse to mention Too Human because that's too easy. Besides with such a heavy emphasis on combat it really shouldn't feel like a tiresome chore... 'ya know?

First of all Fable 2 is deffinately not a hack and slash game.
I'm going to throw my vote at Too human, there's absolutely no depth to the combat wahtsoever, you just push the analogue stick in the direction of the enemies and that's pretty much all there is to it.

i haven't actually played it, but from the looks of it ninja blade's fighting looks pretty poor. there's no ninja like elements and random quicktime events for every enemy! perhaps i'm wrong, but it looks shit!

Everything about Fable 2 combat pretty much screams hack and slash. Mash the same button for 7 minutes, press the button that makes the little XP orbs come to you, repeat.

Ninety Nine Nights: Playing as Klarann.

I would NOT like to smash a goblin with a two tonne rock-stick.
I never got to play that game > I wonder if I can get it cheap now =)

Played the demo like 50 times 'cause the combat system is pretty smooth, but I can imagine a dude with rock on a stick being really cumbersome to play as.

I've had enough of people slating Fable II just because their master Yahtzee said so. It's a fantastic game, and you can go an argue with my dog if you think otherwise.

Although, I should probally state a point. I can't just go off flaming...

Do you agree the troll fights are harder? Do you also agree that if you simply hit it alot and occasionaly fireballed it's face in two, the game would be MUCH, MUCH too easy. It's already to easy, Troll fights are the only hard bit about it.

I think Kistune meant, even though the combat is Hack N Slash, it's still and RPG game.

Dude, get it. I love it. The story is great, mowing down hordes of goblins is fun...as long as you're not doing it with a giant rock XD.

Really? From what I gathered, it was "go here, kill some stuff.
Why?
'Cos."
I can understand how you reached that conclusion, but after playing every campaign there is actually a reason for the conflict.

I hope this quote doesn't get messed up:
No I don't think Fable 2 is bad, in fact theres a lot of things I like about it... the combat however is not one of them. I like Fable 2, not as much as the first Fable but still I appreciate the music atmosphere and dry wit of the games.
And also I don't blindly obey everything Yahtzee says in fact I agree with you in your hate for people who do so. I mean I respect the man, he is funny after all.. but that doesn't make his opinions valid.

I do believe that is blasphemy sir. There are plenty of worse hack 'n slash games. Too Human for one. Dynasty Warriors has a hell of a lot more depth.

Wait, I thought you had to make combo's in Fable 2? Like melee-magic-gun or gun-magic-gun or whatever. Sounded pretty neat to me, simple but nice, if you get the timing right and stuff.

Anyway, I go with Too Human, that annoyed the crap outa me.
