I searched for it and found a lot of worst superhero ever topics, but none on just comic book characters.

The topic is pretty self explanatory, it being what you think is the worst character in any comic. It can be a specific character, a character type or cliche, or even a group of characters. The you have to explain why.

For me, I'd have to say Nite Owl form Watchmen. He's pretty much the epitome of the word "Putz" and in every picture of him in the book, he is frowning. Is he really that depressed all the time? Why is he so uninteresting? Truthfully, the only character that I found even remotely interesting form watchmen was Rorschach.

Am I the only person who doesn't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of comic books on this site? :\

Oh come on, the characters in Watchmen weren't uninteresting. Sure, they could be boring, but they where real characters. Wolverine on the other hand just likes to cut things. That is why I vote him the worst comic book character ever, because he is all and all an animal that acts on instinct, and that is boring. What is his character development? Oh, he has amnesia and can't remember anything, so no moments that shaped his life in the past counts. Sure, his background was fleshed out later, but many many many many times he's just going around being an idiot who acts first and thinks later.

These Guys.

Hooray for shouting Bravado pointlessley and endlessley! He has his own comic, and he's the least likeable character in it. Unlike this guy:http://archiesonic.wikia.com/wiki/Dimitri

Dude. There's that scene, just after he's boinked Silk Spectre, where he's not frowning. He has a determined "smouldering" look. Spectre even coments on it.

As for the worst comic book character? With most comics it eventually comes down to who's writing the character. Even complete shitheels like Captain America or Wonder Woman can be somewhat interesting in the hands of a decent writer (for the best example of this, check out Miracle Man before and after Alan Moore)

If I had to choose one character it would be Snow White from Fables. The comic starts off well enough, with sharp dialogue and an interesting blend of styles (even if it was ripping off Tom Holt something awful) but about 20 issues in the whole thing goes down the crapper. Snow White get's pregnant and promptly quits her job as one of the top suits in fabletown, stopping only to give a long, bizarely out of character rant about the evils of abortion. She then disapears from the series completely only to be replaced by Belle from sleeping beauty who is basically exactly the same character only less interesting. The series then goes on to become sheer Pro Israel propaganda, after which I stopped reading.

Every once and a while I flip through the Wikipedia section on the DC universe, because it just reads like a joke; compared to the mature, gritty universe Marvel has established over the years, DC is like a retarded manchild that never grows any older mentally.

But that aside, the worst comic book character ever?

Thor Girl.

Don't worry, being a fanboy is a great privilege as long as you don't start to flame everyone.

Mr Calender...sure he was in The Long Halloween which was an awesome comic, but he killed people based on holiday's...were DC so desperate to create a character connected to the holiday's, to help batman that their best choice was someone named MR CALENDER!

Edit: I stand corrected. It's Calender MAN! Still just as bad though...

Watchmen may have been realistic, but let's face it, most of use don't read comic books for their realism. I like Watchmen to an extent, but i really don't see it as the super-duper all-time best comic book out there, like most people see it. It was fun to read and interesting to see things from the superheroes' point of view in a realistic situation, but it wasn't any fun.
