Hands down, Superman.

He's way too overpowered.

Especially the Superfriends Superman. If I remember correctly, he onced arrived on the scene too late to save someone. He then ran backwards around the world so fast that he went back in time.

Corny as hell.

Am I the only person who doesn't have an encyclopaedic knowledge of comic books on this site? :\
Either that or no one sells them in England.
There are not many exclusive comic book shops in Britain but most major book stores have a small selection of the big titles
More than just the big titles, I've found some gems tucked away in (for example) Waterstones. And last I saw, WH Smiths were selling Marvel single-issues, though they hid them in the kids section. Plenty of newsagents carry comics too.

Still, though, Forbidden Planet is your best bet. The tiny one in Southampton moved recently and now had a bigger property in the middle of town. Its like geek heaven :)
Meh Waterstones and whsmiths are the only place i can pick them up, 50+ mile trip to the nearest comic book shop in my area so i don't really get the chance to update my collection that often.

Captain America, because he's essentially an outdated, archaic propaganda piece that serves no purpose in today's society, now that we aren't constantly "threatened" by Communists. Well, they'll probably have him battling insurgents soon, if they haven't already. He just seems like a massively intolerant, nationalistic douche.
Also running around with a shield but no actual weapon makes you look like a dumbass.

And Superman, because since he's essentially invincible and can do pretty much fucking everything, which makes him as excessively boring as a character can be. Then someone hauls out the kryptonite they ordered in bulk from Supervillains Inc. and he turns into the most pathetic creature known to man. You have to wonder why LL hasn't just perforated him with a kryptonite loaded minigun and left it at that. Oh, that's right, saved by a plot device... again!

I hope you enjoyed my angry rant about nothing much. :D

Clockman (I think that's what he's called). He has the power to accurately plan things, and tried to kill the Mayor when he convinced him to take a break an hour early and his schedule went completely wrong, or at least that's what I remember from watching the animated Batman series. I could be wrong, it was a long time ago.

I'd say anything out of the pokemon series, but then I remember that it didn't even make it as far as even basic literature. Truly, the Japanese do think up some childish bullshit.

Okay I'm not a big cap fan, but that is essentially the point of Captain America that he is (was) old fashioned, he's got 1940's values in the modern era, much like the movie "Blast from the Past", he's dealing with a brave new world of teenagers, MTV, the internet, paparazzis all that modern crap. He's also got a 1940's view of women and sense of chivalry, he's a perfect gentlemen in a time of empowered women. This is only going to get more and more pronounced as time goes by.

He doesn't stand for the US exactly, but more of the freedoms it stands for, he's a symbol against tyranny and is widely admired around the world. In Civil war someone, I think Nick Fury, suggests he upgrades to Captain World or something.

The shield, is indestructible, perfectly balanced for throwing and absorbs kinetic energy, that's why he can block an explosion or a punch from a huge guys without flying backwards.

But anyway the New Captain America (Bucky-Cap) uses guns, like a suped up Luger.

I'd have to say Superman (just for being way too powerful) or most of Batman's villains.

Also, Marvel's Squirrel Girl is a prime example of a bad joke taken too far...

Yeah, that's pretty bad.
You know, I was going to say someone like Aquaman, the Fantastic Four, or Loki as one of the worst comic book characters but the character you stated takes the whole cake, pudding and pie too. That has to be the worst superpower in the history of the universe so for winning the thread I present you with this.

Just take the whole tray.

Every once and a while I flip through the Wikipedia section on the DC universe, because it just reads like a joke; compared to the mature, gritty universe Marvel has established over the years, DC is like a retarded manchild that never grows any older mentally.

But that aside, the worst comic book character ever?

Thor Girl.
I vote this, because there are so many things wrong with the concept, never mind the name itself.
