WET. The entire final boss fight is a quick time event (HUGE disappointment considering how flashy the game is the rest of the time) you kill the main bad guy and then Ruby just walks away and...
gets a little speech from some dude (honestly don't remember his name, nor care) about how they aren't enemies or friends, and the scene goes back outside to show the crazy ***** you just killed and her hand twitches.

Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
Not only was this one of the worst endings I'd ever seen, but it was a massive disappointment since I loved the original trilogy so much.

"I'll be back stronger then ever!" -The end.

Fallout 3, because it didn't make sense. I don't care if Broken Steel fixed it, the fact that it ended like in the first place was too stupid and the ending slideshow hardly gave any real closure to the events of the story.

It's a shame too, because that game could've been so much more and had so much potential.

Monkey Island II.

Seriously, I was so disappointed. Not because it was sad or something like that, but because it was just a bad and random scene.

Honestly...Assassin's Creed. They barely introduce what the hell The Apple is and then yank you back out. All you got is some scribbles in blood and the credits roll. I don't mind sequel baiting, but that was just a shitty way to go about it.
I didn't find it all that confusing myself ... I understood its importance and usefulness and the power it contained. Then again, I do take the kind of message they were sending across quite well and use it frequently in my writing.
I understood it, but it was a piss poor ending after all the build up over the course of the game. The problem is that the story didn't feel at all complete or wrapped up like ACII did. That game sequel baited just as much and yet still managed to feel complete at the end.

two of the pcs die and the other is put in a permanent coma. They don't change a single thing about either world making the whole experience a cock-tease.

Majora's Mask. the game (as i have said here many times) is meh but the end battle was great, then having the dazzling white background with 'DAWN OF A NEW DAY' written in black, i thought, 'OOOH, interesting' but ended up with a mediocre ending that tried to be philosophical but couldn't quire pull it off and ended up shooting itself in the foot. the stuff the kids say in the moon do raise some interesting concepts but the ending failed. AWESOME theme during the credits though (after the song by the Indi Go Gos)

Borderlands, oh dear god Borderlands.

You spend the entire game searching for the vault, find it, fight a giant pan-dimensional octopus thing and then...nothing, it just ends.
Yes.
So badly this.
The vault was empty!
AAAGHH!

I'd forgotten about this pathetic excuse for an ending, but now it's come back to haunt me.
What's most painful about the terrible ending is the fact that everything else in Borderlands was so damn good.
And even though the ending stank, the intro was one of the best I've ever seen in any game...

Divinity 2: Ego Draconis ending was just a major ***** slap

You spend the entire game (after the prologue) questing to resurrect Ygerna who is linked to Damian "The Damned One", with her life supposedly meaning his death, only to find out it's been Ygerna who has somehow been manipulating you from beyond the grave all this time, then she somehow locks you up in a different dimension and yadda yadda... At least the expansion fixes it somewhat... I wouldn't have minded it happening if it wasn't the ending of the game, it would be a good "turning point" in a story but as it was, it just meant that EVERYTHING you did was meaningless.

One can not zone into a SINGLE game for the worst ending ever.

See, from a creators point of view, they can hide behind the weak excuse that they're "setting up the franchise for expansion", or "story wasn't the key element you should have focused on", etc.

Personally, I've seen a lot of bad endings. Borderlands is popular amongst people here, I can see why. It offers no form of closure, was extremely anticlimactic, and just summed up my opinions on the game as a whole: bad.

Im not a fan of Assassins Creed's style of ending a game. I get it, franchise. But deliberately making 100% of your userbase go "WTFrench toast was that shit!" after every game is NOT doing it right.

Golden Sun on the GBA. Great game. But the first ones ending made me want to punch a hole in a wall. Seriously, epic cliff-hanger.

Fallout 3's ending was... alright. But I'm including it because I didnt like the progression ark. Get us intersted in the story, BAM ITS OVER LIKE THAT. NOPE, SORRY. Ugh.

Generally, I tend to be conservative about buying games. I will hardly ever drop the cash on the first day for a game, save for a few series that actually interest me (Im one of THOSE people whose generally intersted in Halo. Except ODST. That can just go die, horribly.) While I tend to buy games that have bad stories, they are usually games I dont buy for the single player experience: they're games I buy for the multiplayer experience. Plenty of games have bad endings, thats pretty much a staple in the industry right now.

As for Fable 2 having the worst ending, it's kind of fitting. Thats the only game I've ever played only a little bit through before returning it to the store. I was not interested in spending my time to get to the end. Worst ending ever, or does it fit into context with that game being so deliciously... bad...

FFX - Yay! you saved the world.. btw, you dont actually exist so wave goodbye to the girl and fade back into imagination land, kthxbye.

PS: I dont care if this was fixed in X2 cause I didnt play that jiggle physics excuse for a game!

I hated the 2008 game Alone in the Dark Ending Wii version (Does anyone know why the story and that female character is different compare to the 360 version?). The ending was a big WTF since I have no idea what had happen.

Also I hate cliff hanger ending like Halo 2 (It that wait for the conclusion in the next game that killed me).
