Worst game PURCHASE you ever made.

God... I... I don't think I even want to get into it.
To put more content into my post, I'll have to put it out there.
I spent money on collectors editions of both Fable 2 and Fable 3 at their respective releases.
God, I wish I hadn't.
(I would have still bought the games, but I wish I hadn't spent £60 for each.)
To top it off, I recently spent money to get the original Fable for my 360 since I sold my original Xbox and copy of Lost Chapters to my Girlfriends little brother.
It would have been a worthwhile purchase had it been lost chapters like it fucking well should be...

My most disappointing was Dark Void for $60. I don't know why I did it, I just remembered seeing a trailer for it three years before hand and thinking it looked cool then. It's odd since I usually don't make that bad of uninformed game buying decisions but for some reason I did.
My second worst one I could remember was Homefront also at full price. I had classes on the day I bought it, but I still finished the campaign that day (As well as play some multiplayer). The end time for me beating the campaign on normal was about 4:30 hours.

My recent bungling of my wallet would have to be Brink. I payed "full price" for it out of sheer frustration. I had been playing a few bad, unsuccessful L4D2 games at the time, and decided to "find another MP game" and just "have fun" with it.
Well, I payed full price for it, and had no fun. It's just... a terrible game. It has a great concept, but almost everything about it is mediocre. Too many flaws, bad network performance, no single-player value at all, etc. The actual "teamplay" is not there, and the action is bad. Everyone just runs around on tiny maps engaging in rather sad "shootouts".
This is what happens when I buy on an impulse.

My pick would have to be the game that got me renting again: No More Heroes. All the critics (even Yhatzee) loved it and now I need to find out what shit the critics have been smoking?
What might come close however is the one game I didn't rent/try before buying last year: Fallout New Vegas. It would've actually been a pretty good game if it actually worked. But it took them 6 months to get it working (that is assuming that it actually works now) and by that time it was going for $20. Wish I rented and/or waited on that title.
I can easily. It's possesses incredible diversity and replay value, is somewhat fast by SRPG standards, unique battlefields and foes that accompany them, a damn fine OST, great atomsphere (helped no doubt by its musical score), and a plot that has relatively few holes and comes together nicely once you piece together events.Timberwolf0924 said:
The only faults are its localization typos, that the game implies the Abrahamic God had a second son, that said son was evil (or something, I haven't played the game in a while), the computer AI, the lack of difficulty in later chapters, the occassional random difficulty spike and that battles can take from 20 minutes to an hour.
The only way you can dislike FFT is if you dislike RPGs in general or if you quit in the first chapter, which doesn't really give the game a fair shake.

CoD: Black ops for PC. Couldn't actually play it for about a month, then was playable, but still lagged, and lagged, and lagged, and then found out the game wasn't that great either, and was much worse than MW2, at least MW2 ran smoothly, and had a better story.
Fable III, oh how I hated that game. I absoulutely loved the first, even liked the 2nd despite the criticism, but III was just awful, just awful. No customisation whatsoever, bland gameplay, bland story, same graphics as II pretty much, the weapon you started off with was all you needed. It was so bad i couldn't even finish it.

A couple of friends raved about it, but I just found it both boring and very hard.
However it was fairly cheap so not the worst mistake I've made.
Borderlands was a worse one.
