Worst Game Trade In/ Selling Stories

I don't know if you would believe me or not but my bro used to be a game tester meaning he get free games which some of them I've took.
One of the game was medicore and I was finish with it so I figure I will trade it. I took it to GAME and they couldn't take it in cos of the barcode (look like any other barcodes) so I still got that dull game in my collection. I'm not sure if this apply to some if not all freebie games you get as a tester.

As long as it's a retail copy, they should be able to take it. Heck, some smaller stores even sell those 'not for resale' promotional copies as used games. However, if the game is very recent and not wellknown, there's a good chance it's not in the system yet when you take it to the store. The ways chains operate is that trade-in prices are not decided by individual stores, but somewhere higher-up. If the game is not in the system, they can't put a price on it. Back when I still got retail copies to review, I'd try to sell the mediocre ones, and the 'not in system' thing happened more than once.

I remember selling a few old PS2 games a few years ago. They were rubbish but I still regretted selling them. There was an Underworld top-down shooter in there. It was pants but thinking about it I now want to play it.

I think the only game I've ever sold without regret is Dragon Age 2. I didn't want spoilers so I avoided all references to it for months before it came out, then I got it, so excited. Two days later I'm taking it back into town, not to GAME for a refund but to CEX for about half the game's worth in store credit. As punishment for my stupidity and I guess to devalue the IP so maybe they'll make the next one better.

What is the point of this topic? I didn't see any problems during my visits to gamestop to trade in my games so, I don't see a problem here.

I thought it was pretty simple. I'm asking for peoples experience reselling games/consoles, specifically to retailers like Gamestop (I also asked for "single person", as in you met with someone and they tried to rip you off by offering significantly lower than you wanted.) You're telling me you've never had a game, maybe a rather recent one, and took it gamestop thinking maybe you'll get at least half what you paid for back, and you get maybe $10-15?
If yes, I'm happy for you.

I still don't see the fucking point to this topic, I heard stories like this maybe in 2008? Why do you have to bring up something that's already been discussed? I feel really sad for you.

Haha, you feel sad for me? Also, what HASN'T been discussed on here before? Look, if you think this is a completely useless, pointless, redundant topic, then move on. You already voiced your opinion about it. Fine. I know I suck at making topics. That's what I get for being curious I guess. Stories change, and so do topics. I personally haven't seen a gamestop pricing topic like this recently, but if you have, then I suppose I apologize?

Except that this one wasn't a "Gamestop gives 10 cents for 100 games. They are filth!" thread. It started with "I'm going to trade some games there. What should I expect?", and later the OP author posted "It wasn't as bad as I expected".
