Have you been hyped up in the meer thought that your favorite game was making a sequel. I was hyped up about Vegas 2. When I bought it i was thoroughly disappointed. The AI are stupid, pretty much the same as the original.
What games have you bought and this has happened?

Battlefield 1942 because when the game decided to run and not crash it was a firing range simulator with the AI standing there doing nothing or running into a wall over and over again, that is until one of them wakes up and does an amazing long range sniper headshot.

Tales of Legendia. Nothing exactly wrong with the game, it just wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Also, the first time I played it, the session was cut short when my girlfriend told me she was leaving me, so it's a bit painful to play thereafter. I'll be getting rid of it soon.

Lol... playing BF1942 with the AI? yeaaaah.

Worst game I own? I dunno... I do have a copy of Superman Returns that I got for free. Oh, and Dead or Alive Extreme 2, also free, that I haven't even opened.

Spiderman 2 for the original Game Boy.

Sits comfortably as one of the worst games I've ever played. Spiderman does a move about 3 hours after you press a button, items blend in with the background, and you have absolutely no idea where the hell to go.

I would have to say Prey, that game is pure shit!
Thank you!

Boring, repetitive with shit guns that gave no satisfaction to use. Not to mention a lead character who is a total dick.

A real stinker that one.

Deadly Towers (NES)

I was going through some boxes trying to find Skies of Arcadia for Dreamcast to see if I still own a copy. Then I came across a small Dreamcast controller box with several NES games in it. Among the games was the infamous cartridge of my childhood, Deadly Towers.

See, back then every game had some sort of quality to it, even if it was horrible it was still a game. However, looking back at the times I played this game all I can say is wow, worst game I own. There might be something else I own that rivals it, but I can't say I know what.

The good news is that I found Metal Gear, California Games, Codename: Viper and Maniac Mansion in the same box.

I could try to add to this, but all the weirdness eventually gave me a feeling similar to nausea.

In my own work, I give you this: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/9.107940.1817199
I'm sure you'll understand.

Dead Space.
Besides it ripped all of it's good ideas from both Bio/System Shock AND it's so incredibly repetitive I was actually praying for a horrible vehicle section to get away from the same dismember their arms grind, It's just not scary. What people don't seem to understnad is that blood gore guts and mutants are not SCARY, they are gruesome. Scary is Silent Hill 2.

Also, what was wrong with KOTOR 2's story? I mean, yeah, you know that you-know-who is probally a bad (guy) and will betray you in hte end by the time your halfway into the game, but I thought it's story was pretty good.

Halo 2, got worse when I played it online and my hate of Halo 'fans' was birthed. Fuzion Frenzy 2, not as fun as first. SONIC TEH HEDGEHOG, says it it's self.

I agree that Dead Space isn't anything special. Typical blood and guts corridor runner with no pacing. I also agree that Silent Hill 2 is real story-based thriller at it's best.

Although, it's good there are games like Dead Space I suppose, just to mix things up a little, but there are too many games just. like. it. If it wasn't for the 50+ games exactly like it I might feel different.

You can shoot limbs off, oh my! The single most incredible moment in horror game history? I think not. Why do people get so worked up over this feature.

That I actually own?

Like, paid for? Probably Corncob 3D.

<img src="http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/corncob.gif" /img>

edit: Actually, come to think of it, it was actually quite fun, and it had an interesting campaign with a good learning curve, with tutorial missions and everything...It got really hard later on, but that was the idea. And it tried to be replayable with randomly-generated-based-upon-user-input missions.

It wasn't too bad, but the graphics are dated by today's standards and were dated back then too. I doubt I'd enjoy it so much now. ;/

But Robotech: Battlecry is pretty terrible too.

The Godfather 2

had a lot of potential but there's nothing to do after you beat it

not even the multiplayer is worth it
