Ragnarok Online.

Here's an average day of when I used to play it:

*Kill some monsters.*

*click*

...*clickclickclick*

Why can't I move?

Oh! Damn it. Lag again. I'll just wait for it to be over.

*wait patiently*

...WHAT. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M DEAD?! GAAAAAAAAH THAT'S NOT FAIR! YOU CAN'T HAVE A BOSS SPAWN AND KILL ME WHILE I'M LAGGING!

Star Wars Galaxy. This was back when I had a *real* shitty computer. I mean, it took a half hour to move an inch. I am dead fucking serious. By the time I got a better computer, SWG was discontinued.
Oh you to? :p

And for me it would be a longgggggg time ago on Diablo 2 hardcore. I started rubberbanding on a Baal run and had to start all over in 30 seconds :(

Always Call of Duty, whenever someone quits the game. 'Tis annoying.
How did I deal with it? I just turned my XBox off.
You don't see the irony in doing that? Wouldn't that just do the same thing to everybody else who is playing the game with you at the time? I just fail to see a true solution to the problem if you're only course of action is to commit the same act that brought you chagrin in the first place.

Huh.

Worst lag I can recall having is playing World of Warcraft on my old DELL desktop. There were times when I would lag so bad I couldn't move my character to a location where it wouldn't lag. In there instances, the game was unplayable. I am extremely grateful for my fancy Macbook Pro.

Quite a large upgrade from that old DELL.

World of warcraft - Dalaran - any afternoon. Framerate dropping from a solid 60 to 0.1 in fucking seconds.
This, only worse. I had a terribly outdated computer back when I played Wrath of the Lich King that my computer couldn't even load the city and let me do anything before it logged me out from being unresponsive for so long.
I eventually had to go over to use my friends much better computer just so I could log back in and get the hell out of that city.

I downloaded an HD texture pack for World in Conflict and tried to run it on my laptop, which can't handle the normal game on minimum graphics settings. My framerate was actually less than one.

In online games, I've seen Battlefield: 1942 players with abysmal pings in the 900 range, on servers that don't purge those people. It makes them rather safe from sniping, but they are absolutely not threatening.

I agree with Star Wars Galaxies, Lag = Dead = Armor Degrade. I stopped playing a couple years ago when medic buffs and entertainer buffs were required every time you died.

1400 ms of lag while playing TF2. On a server no more than 400 Km away. From Canberra, the national capital of Australia. Granted I was at a LAN party and was sharing a single connection with 9 other computers. But still, 1.4 seconds of lag? Fuck playing, fuck even connecting. I couldn't do shit.

Lag on anything multiplayer is the worst. Especially on Killing Floor.
I seem to have the most trouble with that >.>

I usually get 50-60 ping on TF2, but sometimes it can jump up to around the 350 mark, making for some truly shit-tastic gaming.
My connection is schizophrenic. I go anywhere from 100 Ping to over 2000 Ping and everywhere in between in about thirty seconds.

Attempting to run ePSXe on my old laptop, playing Final Fantasy Tactics. Oh it ran, but it ran even slower than Final Fantasy Tactics. You cannot IMAGINE the pain.

Doom 3 multiplayer.

Enemies would literally teleport 30-50m at a time, bullets would vanish in mid-air, weapons would randomly vanish from the floor...

You guys think you have it bad? It took Jesus 3 days just to respawn!

Well I thought it was funny :(

Worst I've ever had was in Bulletstorm, though in fairness it was nothing to do with the game. Because the broadband is really oversubscribed in my area the internet can and will cut out without warning. Bloody Richard Branson.

One massive battle in Eve Online, everyone had over five minutes of lag. This is not an exaggeration, there was literally five minutes or more passing between clicking on something and the games responding, if it did at all.

Heh... any lag in games I've ever experienced has been dwarfed and subsequently forgotten due to the memories of my late laptop. Not only did startup take anywhere between 8 and 15 minutes, but if I had the nerve to ask it to open the internet and then ask it to also run MSN and possibly Notepad, I always had time to go do something else, like make a snack or go to the bathroom or something. Playing simple flash games like Bejeweled became unbelievably frustrating when the screen would freeze for up to 10 seconds at a time; I didn't bother trying to play real games.

Minecraft, I was hosting a server for my friends and some had delays that were over a minute before the blocks would break or they would start taking damage a minute later, my internet wasn't fast enough for all of them...

Oh this is an easy one.

It was in a game of left 4 dead 2, I believe. Playing No Mercy, and it was the sewer level. At the time (and I still am), I was playing on my exceptionally powerful gaming desktop. Now, I moved last summer, and the Ethernet cables have yet to be set up, so I was (and currently am) using a wireless card for all my internet needs. What's the problem with wireless? Microwaves. Keep in mind that I'm one of those players of l4d2 that's pretty good, and is quick to react and save others. Anyway, it was near the start of the level and we ran to the garage to get the guns. When we got those, we went through the alley to get to the restaurant kitchen, and then all of a sudden, I'm losing connection, but not entirely. I kinda regain connection, but it's really bad. Anyway, my ping went through the fucking roof. When it started, we had just gotten into the kitchen. Turns out, someone downstairs was using the microwave, BIG WHOOP. I quickly ran downstairs, turned the damn thing off, quickly explained the situation, and ran back upstairs. By the time the connection stabilized itself, 1 person died, another was incapped, a 3rd was caught by a smoker on the roof of the safehouse building, and then there was me, who had just a single common hitting me, still with green health, safely in the kitchen. Had the microwave never fucking my connection over, we would have been just fine >_>

TL:DR

I fucking hate microwaves when I use wireless to play online

I once waited about ten minutes for the opening to an online match in Blazblue to end so the "action" could begin.

Needless to say, once the fight started, we couldn't move. Thought about quitting, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be the one to back out!

He quit after about a minute of not being able to move. It was pretty awful.

Oh yeah, Mabinogi has terrible lag. They really need to increase the number of servers that they use.

The worst lag I've had (and played through) was Far Cry 2. I played through over half the game on my computer even though on the lowest settings it would skip every three or four frames.
