I loved that awful game. Even though the multiplayer was basically unplayable, with characters taking bullets without even flinching, like speeding trains.

I don't remember the Raiders of the Lost Arc game, but I do remember the Temple of Doom game, which was so famously bad that it actually trumps ET on a "If I had to play one of these games, which would it not be?" scale.

But yeah, ET was pretty bad. It's still the first game I ever beat.

I think the worst movie tie-in game I ever played was probably Batman Forever on the SNES.

It's the only one that sprang to mind when I saw the topic title, at any rate.

I never finished Jurassic Park on the Amiga now I think about it. That shit was hard.

ET for Atari (I don't think it deserves the label of worst game ever, but it's developers burnt and buried millions of copies of it)

interestingly enough, Raiders of the Lost Ark for Atari was made by the exact same guy as ET was.

And Superman for the N64.

Superman for the N64 was worse then ET, by a long shot.

Sure, neither game was truly based on anything in their respective licenses.

But ET existed in a time when most games didn't have a ending, and honestly, other then the "forest" area in ET, I'm more impressed by the programming and artwork that went into ET then Superman. I can think of several games I'd rather play ET over, but I can't think of a single one I'd rather play superman over.

It's that bad.

And it was released on the N64 in 1999. It had no excuse.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Enter the Matrix yet. Admittedly, that game had some moments but it was just loaded with wasted potential...much like Reloaded and Revolutions.

Since a lot of the worst have been listed, I'll go with a more obscure one: Bram Stoker's Dracula for the SNES, although it had a version that was equally as bad on pretty much everything that could play a video game at the time. It counts because it was based on the 1992 movie, not the novel.
