There are good movies, there are great movies, then there are movies that make you want to go into a homicidal rage because they are just an utter pile of human excrement. Which movies do you consider terrible and beyond redemption? Why?

My all time least favorite movie is most definetley The Spirit it was a schiziophrenic and childish version of Sin City with all the entertainment cut out, it feels like it was written by a seven-year-old with ADD who just finished watching a 48-hour marathon of Spiderman.

And to a lesser extent I dilike 2001:Space Odyssey and Apocalypse Now just because they both have good ideas, but are poorly executed and with an extremley slow pace that makes them feel more like endurance trials than entertainment.

EDIT:Added to this list:M.Night Shamalandshark movies (All of them), Transformers (And all other Micheal Bay movies), and chick flicks.

EDIT:EDIT:The X-men, Ghost Rider and Spiderman movies are also terrible IMO, especially Wolverine: Origins as one poster mentioned.
None of the films you mention are anywhere near the worst ever made. You're talking about films which millions of other people like but you don't. So the post title should be 'Most Overrated Films of All Time... IMO'.

There's shit most people have never seen which is worse than anything you've mentioned. Here's a couple to get you started:

Gummo - boring, fucked-up, no plot.
I Will Walk Like a Crazy Horse - Most fucked up and altogether worst film I've ever seen.

You don't know bad films until you've seen these.

Another addition to this thread should be Four Rooms. It's so amazingly bad that it required four directors, including QT and Rodriguez, just to figure out all of the ways you can be made to hate a movie.

Honestly, I am surprised at the little amount of response BATTLEFIELD EARTH is getting.. it is very possibly the worst move of all time...

Well, it sits well above Independence Day(only flaw: Will Smith's campiness) and Starship Troopers(really? this is a solid movie), on the campiness scale.

But subconsciously, a few edits will turn the cheese into gold. I did skim the book afterwards too, so I respect it for trying AND failing.

EDIT:

Worst movie I've ever seen was that one with the plants on top of the pyramid that ate those American tourists...it was stupid.
Or that racist Transformers 2 which is interchangeable with ALL the shite King Kong movies.

A tale fo two sisters

It was an Korean horror movie, let me summarise the plot:

one of the sisters constantly have to protect the younger from th step mother wich terrorises this sister just that the younger sister is actually dead... and the step mother don't exist so it is all in the older sisters head... and then she somehow picks up a large statue and crushes it over her own head and then her father is caring for her in the living room and all problems fixed.

I have gone through this several times but i still don't get it, and it was a horror movie and I didn't even get startled by some pathetic attempt!

I nominate Star Trek 6: The undiscovered country. Ham handed cold war metaphor? CHECK. Stiff acting? CHECK. Intentionally not subtitling the aliens so only fanboys know what they're saying? CHECK. Such bad writing that the aliens spouting gibberish ends up being the best writing in the movie? CHECK. Everyone in the whole movie is old? CHECK. Red from "that 70's show" playing a klingon?

FUCKING CHECK

Ultraviolet. Nothing is worse, nothing insults the mind or offends the senses, nothing is more incoherent, unflattering, moronic, and so sickeningly absurd. It's so bad it nearly mocks itself. Every DVD and Blu-Ray should come with a warning that this movie could cause miscarriages and should not be viewed by children, adults, the elderly, the deceased, and most common household pets. I'd rather have permanent violent diarrhea than have to watch this movie again. Plan 9 is at least mock-able, most cheesy horror flicks are at least unintentionally funny, Ultraviolet is just an abysmal failure that makes me sorry we haven't all been wiped out by an asteroid before it could have been made.

To be honest, I'm gravely understating just how bad this movie truly is. Must avoid at all costs, I urge you, never subject yourselves to this craptacular cinematic abortion, not for any reason, not even morbid curiosity.

I'm fairly sure it takes effort to hate starship troopers, especially with all that tasty cheese.

Also, on topic, "Funny People", not only was it horribly un-funny, it was also pushing 2 and a half hours long. Eugh.

Hostel. They spent most of the movie trying to squash a pathetically contrived amount of character into...what's his name...Paxton (during which I fell asleep) in order to justify the last few minutes. And it wasn't a horror movie. It wasn't even a gore movie. It was just five minutes of grossness, finger amputation and Japanese girls screaming.

What else? Umm...I don't know, I tend to laugh my way through most bad movies, like Salem's Lot and Manos: The Hands Of Fate, so it's hard for me to pick one that isn't unintentionally funny enough for me to like it.

Oh, actually I do know. Ironically enough, 90% of romantic comedies are neither romantic nor comedic. Especially not if it has Owen Wilson in it. oO

But the worst superhero movies were the horrible Fantastic Four movies.
