Worst Pokemon sprites?

So I was playing Pokemon Crystal, and finally, after hours of training, my Phanpy evolved into Donphan!

Can't wait to use this guy in battle.

Where's the rest of him? Why he almost entirely offscreen? Who thought that looked good?!

I always loved Bulbasaur. He was my favorite. Then I chose him, and sent him into battle, and was greeted by this monstrocity:

I kind of love that Hitmonchan sprite, it's actually amazing how well that works out.

I always wondered what the hell was up with Machoke.

Spoiler: I mean seriously he looks like someone wearing inflatable plastic muscles.

But pretty much every sprite for when a Pokemon comes out on your team is dreadful in the original games.

The Japanese Red and Green games had some hilariously bad sprites. The one that probably takes the cake for me is Mew.
