1-5 are great games. CV isn't too bad. Zero was alright to me, not the best but not horrible. I'm betting 6 will be pretty good. I never played the Umbrella Chronicles games or Operation Raccoon City. I hear that ORC is absolutely terrible attributed to the fact that it wasn't even developed by Capcom.

Then we go to Resident Evil Survivor. I was a huge RE fan back in the PS1 days so I just bought this game blindly due to it having the RE name. My god this game is terrible.

Eh? 5 was good?

From my experience...I don't know what kind of game 5 wanted to be. Sure didn't seem like 4, which at least kept some kind of horror factor. 5 seemed to be more of an action title than a Resident Evil game.

Oh well. At least it looked pretty. That's something I guess.

I liked 5. You could say the same thing about 4 as the gameplay was very similar. I prefer 4 way over 5, but comparing 5 to Resident Evil Survivor makes 5 look like a masterpiece.

I thought 5 was more similar to 4 than 4 was to 1-3. 5 actually set the tone a lot more serious, as opposed to FIGHTING A NAPOLEAN ZOMBIE MIDGET IN A PUZZLE CASTLE which everyone seems to forget. Oh yea, and his bodyguard were bug-men, because why the hell not. Now don't get me wrong, RE4 was creepy up until the castle, then it hit full horror camp mode. Both 4 and 5 are good games, but the series has never really been about really scary gritty survival, its more about the zombie killing.

I played a level of ORC, and honestly, its a serviceable game as far as I'm concerned. Its one of those "would be better with friends" kind of games like Dead Island though. It was meh, not bad but not great.

I haven't really played that many RE spin off games to comment on what's the worst though. My least favorite is RE1. The gameplay and controls do not hold up to today. The puzzles are linear and convoluted. The save system is worse than Dead Rising. Nothing about it is scary or even creepy, its just goofy shlock. It may have been cool in the PS1 era, but boy is it an example of the evolving nature of gameplay. Taking a look back at older games, its hard to understand why you thought certain games were ever fun.
