Worst Rock Band DLC Ever

Okay, so I had to share this with everybody because I am in so much shock right now. I checked rbdlc.com, like I do every Tuesday to see what was released and found this. A Lady Gaga track pack. I don't know what else to say about this, other than this seems crazy to me. I mean, karaoke games exist for a reason and her music is perfect for those games, but not a rock game.

EDIT: My point in all this is not to say that non rock music has no place in this game. Sin Wagon is one of my favorite songs to play. My point is that its silly to add a song with no guitar. And silly to chart nothing but synths. Why not start adding drum and bass or goa trance. If you want to play electronic music by matching falling colored gems, play Beatmania.

I thought the user was just fucking with me when he said there was a Lady Gaga track pack for Rock Band.

This doesn't make any goddamn sense. She's not even a musician much less a "rock artist"

I remember a gaming magazine(forgot witch one) listing their top 10 worst Rock Band DLC. If I remember correctly the worst song was made by Weezer(sorry I forgot its name.)

OT: Yeah Lady Gaga does seem out of place. At least they have South Park version.

Meh, they're good tracks for people who enjoy doing vocals on Rock Band, so I don't see any problem with them. Plus, look at what kind of game Rock Band is - it's meant for parties, and Lady Gaga has mass appeal; even though I don't listen to her music, it can still be "fun", in a way.

I'm curious if the devs at Rock Band were inspired by that South Park episode where Cartman, Kenny and Kyle were playing "Poker Face" on Rock Band - coincidence?

I don't see the problem. Rock Band is a mainstream game that wants to cover as large a group of people as possible. the more popular the franchise has become, the more that the developers will include more pop orientated bands. Enough people buy Lady GaGa's music to justify this.

Why do you say that she isn't a musician? She writes the majority (if not all) of her music. Plays piano, guitar, sings and plays syth.

I think you guys are missing something here. Rock Band also has Country Songs, Folk, and freakin' Spongebob....

Whether you like it or not, Lady Gaga is huge right now and Harmonix is trying to capitalize on that. A friend of mine called me recently telling me about this and how excited she was about it. So obviously there are people out there wanting to buy it.

I'll just keep my hopes up for a 'Brand New' Album pack, and ignore that this ever happened.

I agree with you about the vocals part. But for this to work in a party most of the instrumental tracks should be fun, not just vocals. Its why nobody wants to be the bassist at my house. If you only care about vocals, just sing karaoke.

I'm no fan of Lady Gaga's but nor am I particularly biased against her-I think some of her songs are alright (like Bad Romance) and I think it'd be a laugh to play one of them in Rock Band, but, as was said above, does it really belong in a game with Rock in the title?
They should leave this stuff to Band Hero.
'sides, there's Iron Maiden, The Who and Slipknot track packs for you to download and forget about this slip-up.

I didn't understand the Jimmy Buffet DLC... I mean don't get me wrong, I love Jimmy Buffet, but his songs are not Rock Band material. There's just a style that doesn't work with it.

I do agree its opinion....but the worst DLC ever has to be ether the Heavy Metal track pack. (sure, the songs are good, but the difficulty is horrible and killers on the hands) And the stupid ICarly free download.

Well, the addition of drums and microphone could only help the genre. Problem is crap like Lady Gaga getting added to the game. She is hot though... Doesn't excuse that her music is crap.
