I'm guessing it's because it's on the Xbox 360. I heard the PS3 and PC graphics would be way better.ChupathingyX said:*Graphics don't look that impressive compared to games that have come out years ago.

Here's a piece of advice.Arina Love said:i'm not arguing that it's not magic i'm arguing it's DIFFERENT system as it's don't tie in with how magic in game USED.

when i said it's not magic i meant it's not magic system, and you tried to tie in with real word i know that ice shouting is not natural so do the dragons but i don't talk about nature of dragons or shouts i talk about basic game mechanics. and it's is relevant because if you going to discuss footage and there is INFORMATION on this footage you must as journalist familiarize yourself with this information to KNOW what you are talking about. IF there where no interview then it was totally fine but when it's there there is NO EXCUSE for that sort of poor job.DracoSuave said:Here's a piece of advice.Arina Love said:i'm not arguing that it's not magic i'm arguing it's DIFFERENT system as it's don't tie in with how magic in game USED.
If the idea you wish to convey is not 'This thing is not an X' then nonironically saying 'This thing is not an X' is the absolute worst way to convey that message. You said 'This is not magic.' Thusly, your presented opinion is that it is not magic.
I never said it wasn't a different magic system. It is. It obviously is. But that's not important to the game trailer nor the journalism involved. What is important is that they are seeing some cool use of some ice magic, and hey, look at what it does. Whether it ties into the spell system or not is immaterial to that reporting.
Yeah, get over yourself. Not every game journalist has time to play every single game that is released so maybe they haven't played Oblivion.Popadoo said:...

Did you even fucking play oblivion?!
thing is they don't even have to play game there is plenty very compressed info on net to learn about this stuff. AS well as there is deep information about footage they where talking about interview is 11 minutes long in total how lazy can you be to not watch it. it's basic work ethic to research things that you going to talk about. They did a sloppy job.UmJammerSully said:Yeah, get over yourself. Not every game journalist has time to play every single game that is released so maybe they haven't played Oblivion.Popadoo said:...

Meh. Seemed fine to me. It sounded like two guys who had either only a casual interest in TES prior to this or no real experience at all. That's fine by me. On the contrary, I'm happy for that: it means Skyrim is appealing to new players.Dylan Blackler said:Can you guys have a look at this video and tell me your thoughts, The gameplay and all is great but listen to what these fools say..
Well...yeah. Mate, I'm not gonna lie: I can't begin to count the number of hours I spent with Oblivion (to say nothing of Morrowind), and I normally have a really good memory when it comes to games, but I have no problem admitting that I forgot that they were called 'Spriggan.' They didn't appear all that often to begin with, 'dryad' is a more common name anyway, and the last Elder Scrolls game was five years ago.Dylan Blackler said:I wouldn't comment on the Graphics just yet as the video was bad quality. but those two guys i mean wow >.> tree people, calling the shout "magic" , saying it was the duel handing feature. I hope they get strung up and shot =D
Dude...you gleefully said that you "...hope they get strung up and shot." You even added a little smiley face after it. Normally when someone calls for lynching, they aren't the one who complains that things are getting out of hand when people react poorly.Dylan Blackler said:I'm not getting "uppity" about it, I was just curious to what you guys say, if you look at the comments on the Gamespot site, those are terrible sure i personally do not like it (other then the new gameplay footage) but I'm not trying to start a war, I was just curious to see what you all say >.>
I never understand why disagreements always turn into flame-wars, I guess that's the internet =P
Ah, there we go. I'll stand by that statement.DracoSuave said:You'll have to explain your point even better, because it seems to me that it's two people who are interested in gaming getting enthusiastic about a game from a series they're not familiar with.
In fact, this is proper game journalism as it has two people who don't have preconceived notions about what an elder scrolls game should be, and looking at it from a neutral, non-fanboy point of view.
You seem to be the only one who sees this as a problem. Maybe they haven't played previous Elder Scrolls games, and Skyrim is their first experience with it. Even then, they acknowledged Shouts by name, even if they didn't pick up on the rather subtle difference of Shout-use versus regular magic-use being that you can see your character's hand in the latter and not the former.Dylan Blackler said:lol it looks like this was the first time they saw it, and they could at least get it right and not call Shouts "Magic" or not make it to obvious that they haven't played the previous like calling them tree people >.> or saying they haven't seen these before.(they where in the previous 2 TES games)
That's all well and good in theory, but how is this specific instance unreasonable? They didn't remember the name of a dramatically redesigned enemy from a game series whose last installment was five years ago. And that enemy didn't appear all that often, nor was it terribly memorable.Arina Love said:thing is they don't even have to play game there is plenty very compressed info on net to learn about this stuff. He was only talking about dual wielding in the context of being able to sling magic with your left hand while still having a weapon in your right...which for all intents and purposes, he was doing at the time, albeit with Shouts.someonehairy-ish said:He wasn't dual weilding anything when they said he was.
I just got this hilarious mental image of a hipster in the Elder Scrolls universe:someonehairy-ish said:The 'magic spell' was a dragon shout. Not a generic frost spell.
Looked like it. It certainly didn't look like the Oblivion spriggan. And I looked up the name/appearance, so now I can say with a bit more certainty that it looked aesthetically more like a gnarl out of Shivering Isles than a spriggan.someonehairy-ish said:I'm pretty sure the tree thing was the new version of the spriggan, not 100% sure it may be a dryad or something.
[/quote]someonehairy-ish said:Those are pretty easy mistakes to make. Except for the dual weild one perhaps. He pretty clearly only had one weapon and no spell equipped.
My thoughts exactly. I have no clue what those tree people are, either. The commentary was fine. Just seemed like two normal guys discussing it.BLAHwhatever said:Is this a "Nerds point at normal people and laugh" thread? Because I don't really get it what's wrong with their commentary. Then again, I might have been too distracted by the Trailer itself.
Dr Frankencluck inc!
...yeah, that's an urge you should probably resist. It's not a metaphor I've ever heard, and all it does is make you seem rather loony when you start shaking your head at how out of hand the thread has gotten.Dylan Blackler said:yea I just always wanted to say that "...hope they get strung up and shot." line, I have no idea why >.<
If you go to game trailers they have a whole 20 minute showcase on the thing.believer258 said:Well, it certainly wasn't the best commentary I have ever heard, but it wasn't bad. I don't see the big problem here?
In the meantime, does anyone know where I can find an extended version of this footage somewhere? You know, instead of just bits and pieces?
