Ever have a teacher that just couldn't teach?

It's my first year of University and I'm aiming for a computing science major. However, the professor of my introductory course speaks with such a thick accent that I can't understand him. It's a pain to listen to. Plus, his notes are pretty much useless. So my only option is to buy "Java for Dummies" and hope to god that I learn the right things for the exams. I can't NOT take the class or I'll be a year behind.

Who was your worst teacher and what made him/her bad?

I think my worst teacher was in the 1st grade. Always gave me 'purple' cards and forced me to write home about what I did wrong...

My worst teacher was my college Philosophy teacher. This guy reminded me of Keven Nealon's character Mr. Cheezle from the movie Grandma's Boy. This guy had his head so far up in the clouds (up his ass) that nothing ever got done in class. We had more questions than answers after each class... worthless.

My current mathematics teacher is terrible at teaching in general. She tends to get more answers wrong than I do.

My algebra teacher in 8th grade.

One time when my mother and her were talking, she said that children are like dogs and you have to train them as such.

Another time during free period, I was listening to my iPod (they let you during lunch and free period) she kept talking to me and I didn't notice. When I finally looked up and took out my earphones, she yelled at me to tuck my shirt in and when she walked away she said, "You're not very bright are you?"

Fucking ****. I almost punched her out right there.

For me, any female who tried to teach me mathematics.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not sexist.
I just simply couldn't learn from them.

Luckily, my natural ease with math carried my way into middle school, where there were more than three adult males in the building. So it's all good.

My 8th grade algebra teacher who taught for the second half of the year (the first one retired halfway through). The general consensus among everyone who had her was that she could not teach and that I should have taken her place (and they did specify me, I was kinda the math genius there. I'll stop now before my ego explodes).

So back when I was in electronics tech school I had these three teachers. One taught technical trigonometry, one taught DC/AC electronics, and one taught solid-state electronics.

All three of them were named Jim, and they were ALL ex-Marines.

I called them Jim, Jimmy and Jimbo respectively.

Now Jim was alright, he was a decent enough teacher but I think he was an alcoholic, what with him smelling like whiskey most of the time. He also looked like Gordon Lightfoot. [http://gooddeedaday.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/gordon-lightfoot-sundown-424910.jpg]

Jimmy was also pretty cool, he was some sort of black-belt kung fu master who could kick anybody's ass. His wife loved to bake so he'd constantly be bringing in cookies and the like for us.

...

Considering that this is supposed to be bad teachers, we now get to Jimbo.

Jimbo was morbidly obese, had a nasty cough and missed class all the time because of medical problems. He was an absolute dick to everyone, had no patience and talked down to people constantly. He didn't even follow the god damned class syllabus, without getting into the technical details of it he was basically trying to teach us the opposite of what we'd already been told (conventional current flow VS electron current flow) and refused to fix that when we confronted him about it despite that was the cause of some of the other students problems.

Miserable old bastard.

Lucky bastards - my French teacher is a total witch.

Her shouting "DEUX!" in that shrill shriek of hers will go with me to my grave.

One of my old teachers in school was absolutely insane. He always had a stress ball in his hand which was slightly worrying. He couldn't control the class and talked with weird enthusiasm, but at certain random points he would have an outburst of rage and scream as loud as he could at the class. Sometimes he would do it for the most trivial things. One time he got in a fist fight with a student (he used to be a boxer) and another time he punched a hole in the door. I kid you not.

Another teacher in the same school (which I left for another after my fourth year there) always had rumours surrounding him about him being a paedophile. It was quite funny actually. Then the year after I left, it was confirmed that he actually was a paedophile. I think it was kept quiet though. He was a mean bastard aswell. So yeah, there's my worst teachers.

One of our teachers is a paedophile. He genuinely, literally touches himself in class and has erections a lot when we walk in. And once we think that he was naked. We knocked on his door, and he opened it a fraction and stuck his head out sideways, perfectly. He then made us wait like ten minutes before letting us in.

Plus my Maths teacher from last year was appalling. I unlearned Maths from her and got worse as the year went on.

My grade 7 French Teacher couldn't speak French, nor could he pronounce the words he was supposed to be teaching us. He was also the science teacher, so obviously he wasn't a dedicated language teacher.

He had to ask the girl who actually spoke French (Quebec French, but whatever) in our class for the pronunciation.

Edit:

Current Social Studies teacher. She treats us like Elementary students. We're freshmen Lady! We don't care for coloring in class!
Ya I have this too.

It has made me hate my Socials Teacher with a passion. Colouring makes up the brunt of our homework in Grade 10.

I had an irish teacher who was absolute shit at teaching. Throughout the year my irish actually got worse. The year after that I had an awesome teacher and my irish began to improve until the third year I got stuck with that ***** again and after a few months with her I was forced to drop out of honours.
My current irish teacher is okay but at this point I couldn't care less about that subject.
