Say one of your friends saved over you file that had 50 hours of gameplay on it or they keep shooting you even though your on the same team. or maybe they just borrowed a game and never returned it.

My Xbox betrayed me by continually saving over Max Payne saves.

And me and a friend used to spend huge amounts of time killing each other on Halo Co-Op.

Me and my girlfriend's kid were playing TF2 over our lan, we're on opposite teams and I'm playing spy. I've just got into position to sap a really annoying sentry and win the game for blue when I hear him shout. "THE PYRO IS A SPY" into his mic. Pretty much every enemy in the area immediately turns and ventilates the fuck out of me. Screenwatching little bastard.

A friend of mine decided to be on the opposite team of TF2 specifically to hunt me down and kill me as many times as he could.

When I was a very wee little lad and I accidently overwrote my mother's Demon Stalker's save file.

She was on the very last level of that damn game and she's never let me forget it.

Getting 5 or 6 hours into Metal Gear Solid 1 only to realize, after coming back and turning it back on, that the PS1 memory card wasn't working properly, and my saves were gone.

Argh.

This doesn't REALLY count as betrayal but...

I was playing Double Dragon 3 with my dad. Now, I'm really good at this game, but my dad is only decent (decent enough to stay alive anyways). We were having a good run and we get to the final level, Egypt. This level starts off with some platforming. It's fairly simple, you just have to jump from one ledge to the other.

When the level loads, my dad runs full speed into the fray, realizes that the floor ends, and his character falls straight into the abyss.

Then he respawns with the next character, runs full speed into the fray, realizes that the floor ends, and his character falls straight into the abyss.

Then he respawns with the next character, runs full speed into the fray, realizes that the floor ends, and his character falls straight into the abyss.

Now I'm left at the start of the hardest level with no backup or extra lives.

He said that he didn't realize what he was doing, but 3 times into the same pit? I don't think so.

One of my friends was a real jerk in 4-5th grade and turned of the PS1 just after i had finished a boss fight in Legend of Legia, and was almost done saving. This corrupted my save-file and had me starting all over. I don't know if he wanted to corrupt the file or just tease me by turning of the game, but I got pretty mad at him for that

Luckily, I rarely get betrayed, but one time...

So I'm on Last Resort in Halo 3 in a team game. Me and a guy who shall be known forevermore as Arseface are running along. Enemy in a Ghost drives past. We shoot like the Dickens, but he rounds the corner. Arseface looks at me. Then, without provacation, guns me down.

What the hell. Why would someone do such a thing? Did he shoot his comrade because he was bored? What was wrong with him?

Upside: The option came up to kick him from the game.
Downside: Most of the team consisted of Arseface's party, so I was forced to finish a round of Shotty Snipers by myself.

The worst I ever had was when I was but a young lad, and my brother was even younger, I had but a handful of Pokemon to capture in Pokemon Yellow, and one fateful day, my brother wanted to play, and for the sake of fairness my mother agreed, now, that isn't so bad, but he had started a new game, and through his random button mashing had managed to save it, so there I was, going from nearly done to just starting, it was an accident but I just couldn't get over it, in my mind I knew it was an accident, but I just could never forget about it...

Yesterday when I got to the middle of level 10 in Ninja Gaiden 2 and the game froze (and continue to freeze on the same spot). A bit of searching on the internet and it became clear that a patch last Friday has skunked the game... MS! YOU HAVE BETRAYED ME!! :p

i was recently at a lan party with a couple of friends. we were playing call of duty 4 and i was in the perfect sniper position for the certain map. then for no reason what so ever, one of my team mates starts shooting at me. he kills me for no reason. i go back to my spot and he guns me down again and again and again. this happens 10 times.

I still haven't talked to said friend out of fear of ramming his head into a desk

Someone still has my original Half Life disc, now the rest, opposing force, team fortress and counter strike, are useless since my pc died. Also a mate saved over several hours of GTA:SA.

Well, I was playing Halo with a friend on Live and he told me that there was a group of them around the corner as I went round he sniped me in the eye.

Generally if FF is on while playing Gears of War people would join just to team kill. So I wasn't sure if this guy would kill me, it got down to the two of us against one person. As we saw him he shotgunned me in the back and ran in getting a boomshot to the face.

Getting all the way to the last mission on GTA Vice City, and then my roommate beat that mission while I was out, and saved over my file.

I had almost completed the Halo 3 level 'The Covenant' SPLASO (Single player, legendary difficulty, all skulls on - Brutes are immune to body shots, one death means you start the level over, you only recharge your shields by meleeing people, you get less ammo, enemies have double health, enemies have more armour, you have no radar and some other effects). So, I had got through the longest level in the game without dying, until I leave the room and he unpauses it, tries to run the last 25m of the walkway to the end of the level, and runs into a Flood Tank Form, killing me.

LOL

We used to play streets of rage and beat the hell out of each other while all the bad guys kept coming. Still Hilarious. Or you could get all the way to the end and then turn on your partner in the scripted event.

Definitely Halo. There are tons of betrayals that happen in there. Me and my friends will kill the other people in our party pretty frequently. So it ends up being a civil war of sorts with all our friends attacking each other.
