My lil bro took a screwdriver and pried apart 3 or 4 of my ps1 memory cards. Thought I had lost them, then found the pieces in my father's workshop when I needed a tool.

Apparently he just wanted to see what was inside.

35+ hours into FFVII on PS1, and my sister saved over the file with a new game of Crash Bandicoot 15 minutes in.

The kicker...there was loads of space on the memory card to start a new save file without touching mine. Not that I'm still bitter after all these years.

When playing co-op, me and my friend are guaranteed to have a spell of constant betrayals of each other.

Im the guy in Diablo 2 that tells you there is awesome loot over ----> only to have you to soak the damage from the lightning enchanted mob of death in Hell difficulty.

*innocent face*

Martyrdom... CoD4. Enough said.

I have a friend who kills me every time he gets bored of playing a co-op game. Like, if we're in the most exciting part of a game and we're all ready and have a plan and have alll the best weapons available, he just starts killing me. Again and again and again. And again.

Having Metal Gear 2 come out on Xbox, and eagerly await Metal Gear Solid 3 for said platform. It's a wait that continues to this day

During the time of the N64, I used to lend out my cartridges. I didn't pressure them for it back, and they claimed they did give it back. I lost Conkers Bad Fur Day, Super Mario 64 and Pokemon Snap that way.
I lost a nice game of Populus that way too. Lousy "friends".

the worst video game betrayal, for me anyway, was when i had recently re-instaled half life 2 after my pc died, and because of steam i was able to reinstall it again thanks to the loveable "my games" menu, anyway, i got up to the part where gordon "how are my glasses still attatched to my face?" Freeman goes to raven holme, now it was around 3 in the morning at this time, and i hadnt had sleep for about 3 days, so i saved and turned off everything, next morning, i turn it on, try to move and the damn game keeps reporting errors and turning the thing off!
This is a betrayal of heinous stature!

Me to. I now never play co-op with him. He gets bored very quickly. Once he practicaly begged me to go on halo 3 co-op, 5 minutes in and he will start killing me.

When I first started playing halo with my mates, I sucked so bad that I was more a hazard to my own team mates. Eventually my friends just got a recording from that "mmmmh what you say" SNL skit and played it every time I was a team killing fucktard. ^_^

A friend saved over a Civ4 save file. Not a big deal except I was playing on the 'epic' length mode and the game had taken me several weeks of non-consecutive play to ge to the 1930's

A bunch of my friends were over and we (on my part reluctantly because im so bored with that game) played halo 3. and one of the guys didnt like the map we got on team slayer so he decided to teamkill us every waking moment to the point where we just accepted he may as well had been on the other team.

I'v had quite a few betrayals. One of my friends recomended with their heart and soul that crackdown was an exelent game that would keep me occupied for hours on end, bearing that in mind I bought it, played it for 3 hours and turned it off. I havent touched it scince and have in fact sold it to the traitor in question for £8 more than I got it for and got TES Oblivion insted so all is well.

At New Years, we had some younger kids over, so naturally we decided to play some Rock Band. I let one of em on drums, and as soon as the song starts, they start smacking my red pad open-hand so hard that the pad snapped right off, wires and everything. took me nearly a month to get a new set, and it's unresponsive as hell. Had to get another new one 2 months ago, it's not bad, but still misses quite a bit.

A couple instances.

1. My level 54 Oblivion File that my sister overwrote with her level 2.
2. Some 9 yr old dips**t that wouldn't stop betraying me in Grifball. I know they happen a lot, but I asked him after the game why and just went into the typical squeaky voiced swearing spree that the younger Halo players are known for. I muted him obviously. Afterwards, the player I had just partied up with told me that the squeaker thought you were supposed to kill EVERYONE.

Any game without an auto-save option is a constant enemy to me. Last time was when i was playing GTA, I put in a solid 2-3 hours, consisting of many main storyline missions and keeping friends happy, only to come back to the game the next day and realise i had to do it all over again.

Or playing FF (or any RPG for that matter), not saving for hours, thinking i was invincible, only to get owned by some stupidly powerful monster.

One of my friend's
(and by friend in this case I mean cousin who I don't really like and only allow into my house because he is family and im too generous)
asked to burrow one of my games and letting me burrow one of his, he leaves comes back 20 minutes later, having traded it in and bought oblivion.

I was pissed.

I promptly kicked him out; I noticed he forgot the receipt showing that he traded it for £30, once I traded the game he left me I only got £12.

I will never lend anybody, even my closest friends one of my games again.
