Worthwhile DS games?

So, here's the situation:

I have a DS Lite. I have only a little time and a little money. Usually, when buying games for the PC or consoles I'm aware enough of titles to research what I like. Not so for Handheld gaming. I owned a GBA for a bit, but I still feel a little lost when trawling catalogues of DS games. For a bit of context, I'm a massive fan of RPGs - Tactics RPGs I have a particular soft spot for. (FFTA, Shining Force, Disgaea and the like). The only game that I've really had a chance to run through thus far is FF III (Entertaining, but nothing special.). Although I do like RPGs primarily on handhelds, I'm more than open to try new things :)

Any recommendations?

Thanks, folks.

TLoZ: Phantom Hourglass is probably the best available (That I know of) DS game right now.

Ooh, isn't The World Ends With You the one by the Kingdom Hearts team? I've heard about that, I think. Seems to have bloody good reviews, according to the internet. I'll earmark that one.

I've run through Crono Trigger about 10 times on the Snes, but somehow I'd forgotten about the Pokemon series. Are the later ones any good? I got a little cynical once they broke the 150 barrier!

As for Moon, I'll go and do some research on it. I've always been a fish out of water when trying to get to grips with FPSes on anything other than a PC though, TBH. Watching me try to play Halo is actually quite hilarious.

42 all time classics was good. easiest to pick up and play and challenging to do the missions.

If you like tactical RPGs, you could get FFTA2 (though I had it for a while and it was incradibly boring) or the remake of Disgaea 1, with the bonouse Etna story like the psp version had.

But if you're willing to try other things, then try Guitar Hero: On Tour, The World Ends With You, or any of the really good first party games for it.

Disgaea is a good tactical RPG, Chrono Trigger and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are good regular JRPGs.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is a must; Super Mario Bros; Mario Karts and all the Final Fantasys are good.

If you haven't played a Pokemon game since then, there is a lot of new stuff in the later ones. It still has the same core story and gameplay of training a team to beat the elite four in that region while dealing with the generic, no-goodie one dimensional organization, but has added in some very nice mechanics as the generations go on. If you liked Pokemon then, you should probably like it now.
Also, there is WiFi battling and trading. If competitive battling is your cup of tea, it'll definitely add more hours to your gametime and get the worth out of the whole experience.

Go for it. Platinum came out two weeks ago and is the same price of Pearl/Diamond.
