I think you may be on to something here... if Hulk had a minor part in the movie script, and Norton got a bit too vocal on rewriting the movie to give his character a bigger role it explains both sides:Unrulyhandbag said:They didn't take up one of the best actors of his generation when he was excited to take part? they tell us their taking the part in a new direction and haven't told us who will be playing Bruce?
hmm... Maybe the Avengers are chasing down a rampaging Hulk. Don't need an actor for the CG monkey suit.

If they end up taking on a rampaging hulk it'll just be the animated avengers movie in live action. Very lazy on their part. But it WAS good in the animated version at least.Aisaku said:I think you may be on to something here... if Hulk had a minor part in the movie script, and Norton got a bit too vocal on rewriting the movie to give his character a bigger role it explains both sides:Unrulyhandbag said:They didn't take up one of the best actors of his generation when he was excited to take part? they tell us their taking the part in a new direction and haven't told us who will be playing Bruce?

Norton was very into the movie... to the movie's detriment.
Marvel had to drop him for the good of the film as a whole.
Buuuut...its canon. Would you prefer a non-former marvel comic writer as the director for a Marvel movie? Certainly he would not have created a teleporting baraka and call it Deadpool.Jake Martinez said:I was pretty certain that whoever wrote that press release for Marvel was spewing out their ass. I hope they catch hell for it as well.
Personally I don't think this bodes well for the movie. I understand that ensemble casts can be expensive, but Norton was one of the big draws for this movie - he is indisputably one of the best actors of this generation.
He does, however, have a reputation for being extremely picky about script direction. The rumor is that he re-wrote most of the Incredible Hulk movie (and from what insiders say, this actually improved it, so I'm afraid to see what it was like originally).
Personally I'm more depressed that Whedon is attached to this property. I can't forgive him for what he did to the X-men on his run with the comic. Okay, maybe that's being melodramatic, but suffice it to say, I didn't like it.
I hope the Avengers turns out to be a good flick, but right now I'm not overly positive about it.
Hawkeye is in it tooHG131 said:Here's an FYI. The Avengers movie will shatter reality. It's Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk and maybe others in a movie. Already dangerously awesome. Joss is directing. That alone makes the awesome levels quintuple, making it so awesome reality will shatter.Aurgelmir said:That kinda sucks. Norton was a good match for Bruce Banner.
But hey, this isnt the first time we hear rumor of Marvel and Norton not seeing eye to eye.
All in all I think it is very important for that ll the actors play well together in the Avengers move, because well... THE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO F IT UP!
But first let's not F up Thor and Captain America, shall we Marvel? By that I mean;
Make sure you end Captain America in such a way that we can get Winter Soldier in a future movie.
