This was heavily inspired by the Ethernalnothingness thread . Before i start i will like to point out that i know that not all people play CoD for multiplayer, some people actually like the story .
That being said , do you think that CoD would benefit from being Multiplayer only . While there are people interested in single player , i do think CoD would make more money by being MP only . The developpers would save time and money on Skipping the Story mode , which means no more need to pay writers, less voice actors , and (i'm guessing) it'll cost less to designe because the story mode graphics are (slightly) better than the MP graphics .So while they may lose a few clients , the also save a lot of money and time .
Speaking of time , because the game would take less time to developpe , activision could only use one developpement team to make yearly games like they do. This could free up the other team to pursue other projects, while maintaining the revenue the company receives .
Also , since ( as far as i know ) there is no Story mode DLC and only MP DLC , activision is not losing any money from content they release after the game is sold .
They could also technically lower the price of the game in and off itself from 60$ to 40$ , this would , in my opinion , encourage even more people to buy the game . Especially the crowd who doesn't want to drop 60$ every year for the latest game . 40$ a year would hurt less than 60$ and could potentially make the game sell even more copies ( if that's even possible ).
what do you guys think?
