Would fantasy be better?

If you had the chanse would you give up Earth and prefer to live in a fantasy world of your choise? From your favorite book, movie, game, anything? In that case what world and why?

I would say yes, and I would choose Dragonlance's Kryn because there's dragons, magic and awesome gods. And giving up on Earth wouldn't be that much of a sacrifice if you could get that

And I really mean that you could have your pick. Any place that isn't... this. Alternate universe? Fine. Other planet? Fine. Any place.

I already mostly live in a fantasy world of my own creation, so I'd probably just go with that one.

It really depends on my status in said world. Most fantasy worlds suck a lot if you aren't some noble protagonist.You would be poor, without medical attention, dirty, treated as some peasant without rights. Additionally to that you dont even speak their language most of the time.
But i really enjoy my sword and sorcery too, so yeah, i guess i choose the world of Aventurien/Arkania (Realms of Arkania / Drakensang) it is very forgiving and "good" for a fantasyworld and it has got everything a good adventure needs.

EDIT: Wait, fantasy as in 'not real', or fantasy as in 'fantasy genre'?
If the latter, then probably not. Unless the world of the Dresden files or Harry Potter is on offer, and I'm a wizard.

The possibilty of low status is just what I aim for. Would it be preferrable to be poor and mistreated in a fantasy world, than in the same situation here on Earth? Said that no place is perfect: what would be better, our reality or a world with the stuff we dream about in? Even if you can't have it.

Possibly not well it depend on the fantasy worlds I choose to lived in. I mean most fantasy worlds will have conflict that could get me killed or it isn't a fully peaceful world.

As ourselves, or do we get to build a character here? As myself, not terribly sure. I'm not sure I would make any more out of my life in a fantastic world than I have in the mundane one. Unless it was a medieval world and I could survive long enough to make my living reinventing things that we have here.

If I can roll my own character, well, being a Disciple in the Belgariad 'verse doesn't sound so bad, as long as it's not to the evil god.
